I envy you, Slayer! That sword looks like one that I could get used to with ease. I have been a fan of Fable Blades, since Brendan makes incredible Tolkien swords. Yes, you are definately a lucky man.

Took him awhile to save up that cash, if I recall... and I think he sold some stuff to do it as well. A bunch of video games and whatnot...

LPBoyle- that's horrible! I feel for ya, man. Good luck getting it all sorted out, 'cause you'll be smiling the biggest smile of your life when you hold one of these beauts. Avery- Yeah, I had to sell a bunch of stuff, but it was well worth it, man. I actually don't get an allowance , but I just couldn't let these get away. As for being good with money, I'd say that the truth is closer to me being obsessed with swords. ;D I'm broke, as it is, but I want to sell my Wii to finance some more purchases. The trouble is, my mom won't let me for goodness' sake! I haven't played it in 6 months, and no one else does but once or twice a year, so why would she care? It's beyond me... But yeah, I'm broke. Sparky- Thanks, man. ;D I try, at least, but you should've seen how many pics I deleted! [start rant] And just because I want to have SOMEBODY know this, you see the third picture (from the top) of the Garrigal? Well, that was taken from about 12 feet in the air, straight up an oak tree. MAN, those things are hard to climb, lol. It sure was a pain getting the sword up there to stick in that position, while making sure I didn't do anything that could potentially impale me if I fell. And, of course, the only specifically *bad* thing about my camera is that the zoom function makes a picture blurry unless flash is on (don't ask me why, I'm a techno-idiot, remember? ), and obviously I couldn't use the flash feature outside, taking pictures of a sword! Therefore, due to my camera's annoying-ness, I had to climb up there and balance while I took the pic from right there. There was no zooming involved, whatsoever. [end rant, sorry! ] Oh, and sorry I haven't answered your PM. I've been kinda busy, but I'll get around to that in just a minute. -Slayer P.S. Check out my thread in the sword customization section about making a scabbard for the Garrigal. It's not up quite yet, but I'll be starting that thread immediately after posting this, so it should be in a few minutes. Thanks! ;D EDIT: I forgot to type 'sparky' before the -. DUH!

Indeed I did. In fact, I can thank our very own fine forumite Sparky for gifting me with a bunch of safety stuff. He even paid shipping! Someone give this man a karma. I haven't really had a chance to use my ryobi beltsander yet, but it won't be long. just a little bit more to do before i glue stuff together. -Slayer

Yeah, I gave Sparky some karma for that. Unfortunately, my old "fit over" safety glasses weren't in a state to be gifted to anyone or you would have gotten a PM from me about that. We'll cure the Techno/Power Tool illiterate thing yet. ;D

Hey slayer, to go off track for a sec, what other tools to need/like to have? I've got a load of chisels, rasps and a load of other handtools that I don't need. I've got a set of buffing wheels too that are going to waste. I have a bad habit of buying tools at yardsales or on sale and never using them. I have the same tools over and over and yet I keep buying more for the shop. I think I even have a palm sander thats no good for me. Nothing wrong with it, its just bogs down fairly easy.

Hey avery! ;D well, I don't really know what I'm talking about when it comes to that, so um... anything useful, I guess? I actually don't even know what a palm sander is, lol! What exactly are buffing wheels? They sound useful... The chisels though, those could come in handy. My dad's are, to put it lightly, junk. They certainly do the job, but not very well... I'd be happy to buy some of that off of you. Could you maybe post a picture or two? I don't have that much money left over from buying the ryobi, but I could probably afford a few basic things (like chisels. ;D). Thanks! ;D -Slayer P.S. The other thread I mentioned is now UP! Go check it out guys, 'cause I'd probably have gone crazy long ago without your help. And who would make my scabbard then?!?!? ;D

Slayer, drop me a PM with a mailing address. Most of the stuff is pretty self explanatory once you have it in hand.

Lo! Did he thrust the blade into the earth and the power within it did spring forth bringing new life unto the grass and trees and turned they shades of healthy green in circle never seen Man that deserves a karma +1 Slayer, it is my great regret that I don't have much to semd you for tools or safety equipment. But I was a mechanic for 5+ years and a millwright for few more. If you have any questions about tools, tool care, or tool use just PM me.
