Your English never ceases to amaze me I can kinda see the hada right there on one of those pictures. Nice and tight wave structures. How many folds did it get? Also, do you mount as well? As a customer service I mean (paid of course)

Hey Gang,
Looking good Marc :-) Look to be some pretty nice blades. Eager to work on another JR blade
As to my prices being "hefty". Take a look around and you'll see that my prices are not only fare, but below many other mounters prices. If you stop to consider the time spent, the detail involved, and my personal gaurantee on workmanship... Well, prices are what they are :-)
As to materials used. Totally up to the customer ( as long as they will work with mount ) The price of all materials is the customers responsibility. A good rule of thumb woud be to plan on spending as much on fittings as you would the blade. I do have a few sets/options available at reasonable prices, but normally customer buys/sends what they wish used.
Keep your eyes open folks for WSS member only discounts on the JR mount work :-) I'm sure Marc will be posting this info soon ( as soon as I get it to him )
Again, looking good Marc :-) Looking forward to more updates on these blades. Thanks for keeping us all in the loop :-) Take care,
Skip

For the quality of work Skip does, his prices are VERY resonable. Like I said... look around... and you will find maybe 1-2 others with prices in the same range as his, and it goes up steep from there. Also... Skip stands behind his work, and the work is solid. I hate to say it... but sometimes, if you want quality, you have to pay just a little bit. In the sub 300 sword market, it might seem like a lot... but then, if we are talking RawBlades, we are NOT talking sub 300... and a great blade like that deserves a qulity mount, not a ill fitted 'one size fits all' crap tsuka and some shoelace ito.

Will you eventually list the fittings you offer on the site? Can you give a rough estimate of what getting a James Raw blade (ca. 1600$?) and getting it completely fitted (ca. 800$?) would cost? Do anyone have a picture of how a James Raw blade with the full hand polish looks like instead of the "smith's polish" option? Would be interesting to see a James Raw polished in a similar fashion to the Howard Clark/Barret katana you see at sites like summerchild.com. Might have to consider getting one of these instead of a Bugei/MAS sword, depending on how large my budget gets during the next two months.

Not too familiar with the haggling scene seeing as I'm from Norway, and I could've sworn your site said that all prices are as low as they can feasibly get and that haggling was pointless.

I don't think of you as French anyway... otherwise I wouldn't even talk to ya. ;D I think of you as a Canadian (I love Canada!) With a speaking disorder that makes him speak what sounds like French sometimes.
