just to inform you guys that paypal isn't as safe as you would think.
i sent two swords to a customer and, having all proofs, email, scan of shipping info and tracking number, and print screen of all , yeah, all emails,,, the buyer still got back his money, with a chargeback for item not received, and unwanted transaction(because no signature) and blah blah, blah.
so , to all of you, be sure that when you ship, it will be received in the delay, and no matter if USPS, UPS make a mistake or anything,, you will be in trouble lol.
now the only way to have back that money is to go to the police and complain for fraud.
the worst in that, Paypal doesn't care about one fact, a couple of hours after the buyer received the shipping number(he made a chargeback for unwanted transaction)
and because of the time USPS took to find back the item,he save 490.00 US
have a nice day guys.

That libertiesrebel guy made a whole thread about how slow the postal system is ( 'Do NOT use USPS') and made a big stink about buying his two swords both here and on WSS forums, and then he claims to Paypal that he didn't authorize the payment on his credit card ?? So Marc gets stuck with the bill, plus penalties??? Wow. and now he can't be reached after he received the swords Sounds like outright fraud to me . Come on libertiesrebel, you got a great deal on the swords and you confirmed receiving them. Time to pay for them!!!

Tell me about it...
My Paypal account is frozen right now... with more than a grand in it.
It has been frozen before as well... once when I sold an x-box 360 and a playstation 3 ...
There were no buyer complaints... Paypal just thought is was suspicious , because it was not things I usually sold.
I had to jump through all kind of hoops to get the funds released too... as well as money that was mine that was already in the account... the freezing affected my personal checking account as well... i was unable to use my ATM check card....
I was forsed to provide tracking numbers , proof of delivery, my bank account numbers, original invoices for the items I sold ... all kinds of bullsemprini.
Iremoved my checking account because of the impact Paypal had on it... and that is why my account is frozen now.
Paypal does whatever the hell they want , and don't seem to have to follow any banking commission laws ...
I despise Paypal.. HATE them... but unfortunately, if you do business online , you almost HAVE to have them.
More laws and regulations need to control Paypal's control of our accounts.
It is unconsciable that they can seize our funds , and hold them captive... even refunding money to others for no good reason.

Hell, such story make me angry. The guy semprinied about not receiving his swords, than got them, his money and all you got was some fees to pay and lots of anger for loosing the cash and the swords ....
If the buyer has another version and can sort this up with you, now would be a very good time, because, for now, it is hard for me not to get pissed and want to (insert random violent behavior that I won't do for my own and other's safety).

I sold an expensive item to someone once and had the person report to Paypal that I had sold him a firearm part. I always ship immediately and he knew this. I speculate that it was his intention to have my account frozen before his payment went through. They froze my account for a year with my money in it but I still got paid. I tried to talk to them but they were very abusive to me and suddenly all I had heard about Paypal's anti-firearm politics made sense as they seemed to have taken it personally.

I recently had a weird paypal/UPS issue where I sent out two items via UPS threw paypal shipping... they charged me... and then charged me AGIAN 10 days later, creating an 'unpaid balance' in my paypal account. Very annoying. But, like Marc (Ridgeway) said... if you do a lot of buissness online, like I do, you are pretty much STUCK with Paypal. It blows.

DAMN. As messed up as it sounds, I don't feel so bad anymore as I'm not alone. I've had my account frozen twice, this year, when it has never happened in the past, because of 'possible 3rd party access to my account' - they froze what I had in there and forced me to jump through a number of hoops to prove my ID and whatnot.
I hate this because they have the monopoly on the 'sendmoneyviainternet' stuff...if they have a competitor, I'm tempted to go with them. You need a go-between like that, unfortunately.

This is an outrage....
Isn't paypal required to honor that transaction? Since they allowed him to back out for product not received, and Marc has clear proof that the products were delivered, then why isn't paypal legally responsible?
I remember WAY BACK years ago,... i was going to buy a sword from an ebay vendor, and this was going on during the Chinese new year (which is like a month long holiday for them). So my order was taking nearly 6 weeks just to process. I filed with paypal to cancel the transaction, but the vendor had to confirm it on his end...
Which is why i am confused here,... when i did the same thing the seller was contacted by paypal and told that i was attempting to cancel the transaction and get my money back. And paypal didn't credit me anything until the seller ok'ed it...
Maybe they changed something? Either way, i am going to be very careful after hearing this... too bad for Marc...

the bad thing in that is that paypal get in that semprinin joke,, they should know with all transactions i made(you wouldn't beleinve it) that i am a trustable seller.
nah,, they didn't mind.
they just told me this morning on the phone to go to the police and complainfor fraud.
and ho hell yeah,, i will do.

I don't know anything about pay pal, so if I sound stupid it may be because I am If you have a business arrangement with them don't they have to obligation to you as a customer? I understand as the consumer wanting to protect myself from being ripped off from someone I don't know. But as a seller aren't they supposed to protect you too. I thought that was the whole reason for pay pal. Is it that they are the only game in town that they can screw seller and they don't care because of that? To me it seems as if pay pal had a BIG part in stealing your money as well. This story makes me very angry, and I am sorry for you Marc Rob

the problem is,, that i have been unlucky and it could arrive to anyone here. the Stupid box have took too much time to get there(from the purchase date) that they gave reason to the buyer. but, as you know, sometimes a parcel can be loose a couple of days/weeks, so i couldn't do anything.
but, i had an agreement with the buyer, i made that price but at the condition he wait for me to have my order and not to have to pay more fees of shipping, if you know what i mean.
so i told him it would take around two weeks before i ship the item.
i am sure he knows how it all work so, he said,, ok.
when i shipped it,, two days after, he asked me to confirm the shipping number,, i confirmed the shipping number and a couple of hours after, he claimed an unwanted transaction and blah blah,, after that ,, when i won that cause,, an unreceived item.
and he finally won with that unreceived item because of the law of (time limit) with an unreceived item.
but,, i calaim them that he received it,, and they made as an answerr,, we cannot do anything because it took to much time for the item to arrive.

Not to mention the buyer SHOULD have already been aware of the customs bs between Canada and U.S. (as should PayPal) so I think he set out to do you in from the git-go. This whole thing stinks.

yeah it stinks a lot man,
he sent me some emails confirming he received them, i sent these proofs to payupal, and they didn't take consideration of these.
with all the way it goes, i am sure he tricked me,, and he knew how to do it,, and this is why i advretise everyone.
from the moment i sent him the shipping info confirmation ,, he had put the chargeback, just from a couple of hours from that email, if he would have been cool,, he would at least have wait one week no? lol
so,, i am really disapointed in paypal procedures
i tought i was safe as much as the buyers lol

After what I am hearing (and recently happened to me) I am thinking about opening a checking or savings account JUST to use for my paypal... and keeping VERY little money in there, transfering anything out of there when it comes. I dunno if I want them with their claws in my main checking account anymore...

I hear you man...
I am always paranoid about e-transactions.
That's why i use a 'Pay-as-you-Go' debit card. I have the Green Dot Visa card connected to my paypal. If i want to buy something from paypal, i load some money on the Green Dot card. If i get money from selling something i spend it immediately... I never have more than $1.50 on that card, or in my paypal account.

Wow, marc, this really sucks. I used to trust paypal, they even got my my money back from someone who didn't send some product i ordered and gave a fake shipping number. I'm sure that although it will probably take some time, a complaint to the police, with the added proofs (such as emails confirming the goods have indeed arrived to the recieving side) will get you your money back. Good luck man, it's a shame that today we reached a state that we have to choose our customers carefully (i'm in the computer business, people try to cheat us a LOT.)

It only costs 15-25 dollars to make a claim in a US small claims court. $500 US is a small claim. Take both him And paypal to court. And go to the police for fraud. On both of their parts.
