Whoa! That looks very cool! For that price, I would be afraid to scuff it up by using it. I would use it for display only, I think.
I like it!

Ewwwww! Tradition for the win! Whatever... That baby looks AMAZING and I'll bet it's a blast to throw... if It were not so unbelivably expensive, I'd be all over it.

...and just why is it so expensive??? And what is S-7 steel? I can think of many better ways to spend that much on a blade!

It would have to be about half the price for me to consider it, 1/4th the price I'd buy a couple of them. I dunno anything about S-7 steel... except that it's the same stuff AngleSword say they use... which makes me go 'Herm...' a bit.

Man, and I thought the "RMJ Tactical" 'hawks were expensive. I'd never seen these Howler, thanks for the link.

It certainly is a beautiful looking object, I suppose if you are really in to Tomahawk, and just want to buy one very special object you may be tempted.

I'd really like to buy a couple and use em... they look like they would throw VERY well in addition to looking Epic-Cool. At THAT price, tho, it's just not gonna happen. I think that price is brutal.

Bren? yeah, I think Bren could do this up nicely.... actually anyone skilled at woodworking and stock removal could make a copy of this at a small percentage of the price...hmmmmmm

I agree, I agree! Which brings up a point I wanted to ask those experienced in throwing about. This hawk has a tang that extends down through the handle. This must make the handle heavier than a standard hawk, no? How does this affect the throwing characteristics? I've heard that the length of the handle is very important but wouldn't the weight of the handle be also? It would seem to me that a heavier handle would make for a slower spin rate. This may be good or bad I don't know.

Looks like you get a good bit more steel than a traditional tomahawk but as others have said- how does this affect performance? I imagine it'd work great as a hand axe, but with the extra weight, is it balanced well for throwing?
Sean needs an excuse to get one; I say we just gave him one. lol

It's pretty light 1 & 1/2 lbs I belive. In the discription it says there is taper on the handle tang to control where the weight goes... honestly, with the guys who made it, I have no doubt it's weight and balance make it AWESOME for throwing... and very, very durable. It's the damn price... ugh.

Geez, Shadow, you've got expensive tastes. I know, right? I was so excited about these when I first saw them... I was thinking "Cool, I think I'll get two... one to hang up and one to toss around and beat the crap out of." Then I saw the price, and I cried a little bit on the inside...

The extra weight of the solid tang is transferred forward by the shape/curve of the handle. this gives the same balance as that of a straight wooden handle. I think it would be an excellent thrower, but with any axe, after you know your paces and range, its all about accuaracy and muscle memory.....

I couldn't justify spending that on a sword, let alone a piece of steel that is just over a foot in length, also I'd be worried that the slats wouldn't stand up to the pressure of throwing.
