Can't watch the whole video right now but I skipped around to see the closeups and it looks pretty good. Is it really almost 6 feet long? It looks pretty short in your video, unless you're also very tall.
I'll watch the video properly when I can.

I was going by the text description in the post. 20.5" blade + 50" shaft = 70.5" overall. I'm about 74" so it's a little bit shorter than I am, but it looks several inches shorter, still, in the video.
Still haven't gotten to watch the whole thing, unfortunately.

Yeah, short shaft but longer shafts are harder to ship and ofc, while I have seen multi part shafts; I would be very skeptical about swinging or cutting with one.
Most of the training naginata I've used are 6-7 feet long and I've heard 9 shaku are used in some ryuha.

I got curious and looked up Hanwei's naginata, which I remembered having the same length blade (20.5"). Its shaft is a good 5" longer than this one, which is-but-isn't a lot.
What really got me, though, was the weight difference. Everywhere I'm seeing the Hanwei lists it as 4lbs 10oz which is heavy. It looks like most of that comes from having a much thicker blade. 3/8" is just over 9.5mm, almost 50% thicker than this one, which struck me as thin, anyway. I wonder how the taper compares?
Aesthetically, I like this one a lot better than the Hanwei. I'm not a fan of what Hanwei did with hi/horimono. Gonna look up some antiques later to see which one's closer in thickness.
