It is with some regret that I must announce the permanent closure of Appleseed Sharpening Custom Blades. I announced this a few months ago on Facebook, but this weekend the final nail was driven into the coffin...I sold my 2x72 belt grinder on Friday. Arthritis in my hands was the main reason I hung up my spurs, as well as the fact that blade making is quite costly. Machinery, tools, materials, and in my case, sending out for heat treat...I was barely breaking even. It didn't help that I was keeping many pieces for my own collection! To those who supported my work over the years, thank you very much, and a special thanks to L Driggers (fallen) for the excellent work heat treating my blades. Mods, feel free to update my profile to "Retired M&V" or the like, or to whatever. Cheers!

Very sad news. I am very fortunate to have a couple of your pieces, and can confidently say that this is quite a loss to the customs community. I wish you much success in your future endeavors. IMHO, you knocked this one out of the park.

I do indeed have the AS39 “Scorpious,” as well as the visually similar AS25.
Though the ‘25 has a very clean cross section, it lacks the dramatic distal taper that Scorpious boasts.
I really enjoy having these “snapshots” that kinda chronicle your progress as a craftsman. ‘25 is quite nice. Scorpious is outstanding.

not to derail this thread too far, but we need pictures to compare the AS25 to the AS39

Voltanbeautiful work. Thanks for posting the pictures. I love the way the grain stands out on the grips. Just the thing for any self-respecting elf to have.
