decided to have a crack at making this popsknife.supplies/collections/patterns/products/lion-killer-pattern, since it looked like s simple fun one (and needed a fun one) this is my take on it, made from steel off cut from work with 100 year old American black oak handles and alloy pins blade is dull mirror polish and paper cutting sharp really happy how it came out and think it s fun/easy build you can customize to make flashier if you wanted

I guess one uses what one has in their hands, nice job on the knife. The hunter knew where the heart was in a lion, anatomy is important.

First post here.
My father was friendly with the Wolhuter family and so years later, in 1975 I was able to handle the actual knife, a Pipe Brand made in London by T Williams in London.
It sits in a glass case in Skukuza Camp in the Kruger National Park on top of the lion skin, and the sheath.
The blade tapers from spine to edge, right through the whole knife profile. Looking at the butt end of the blade it is obvious
The measurement at the spine at the handle junction was around 2mm.
The scales were parallel the width of the blade, with bevelled corners.
I made three exact replicas in 440C steel, one for a collector in RSA, Adrian Smith.
freq Yours is a great homage! The pinning spacing is good.
