Albion is increasing prices on all of their swords effective November 1. Any orders placed before then will be at the current price.

It has been the same prices for at Least 10 years so that has been a good run. Hopefully the prices do not go up too much but we will wait and see.
Arms & Armor has been steadily increasing prices over the years to where alot of their swords cost more than many Albions.
Though their products are very good they are not up to the standard of Albion.

quelle suprise! Been waiting for this.....if they have a waiting list 2 years long, they can get a price hike. Guess I shouldn't have sold my Crecy and probably SHOULD have bought the Yeoman order I cancelled last week.

Most other sword makers have raised their prices multiple times during the same time period Albion actually gave fair warning a few years ago that they were eventually going to have to raise prices but held off longer than expected

Maybe not by everyone’s definition. But purely due to demand. They can go up on price until their waitlist slows down. Easy economics.

It is basic economics!

Looks like the price increase with ample warning has been a total marketing success. Great job Mikie!

Very relieved I put in an order for a Regent in August, as I won't be able to afford any more Albions for a while.

This forced me to finally put a deposit down on a Templar. Seeing as how one never pops up for sale.

Just checked their site and it looks like everything went up $100-$200 with some change for the Next Gens and Squire Lines. And ouch... between $200-$500 with some change for the Museum Line...
I don't know, the increases on the NG and SL seem appropriate but I think they might be pricing the ML out of the market. All I can say is if they going to charge more then they better do their best to get swords out at a faster rate or it's going to be a tough sell with the extra price and year+ wait time combo.

Still a good price for the quality and consistency. With a two year backlog and high demand, I’m just glad they are still taking orders.

As a student of economics I have two questions: Why doesn't Albion increase it's production capacity? How come nobody else has been able able to enter the market as a competitor in this specific category to take advantage of the unmet demand?
I think question two might have some legitimate answers, like Albion might have a monopoly on Peter Johnson's IP, and they have an established reputation in a fraught market. But there are other reputable designers and I would trust users of this forum to be honest in promoting a truly worthy maker if one were to come along.
So why does Albion still stand alone with a 2yr+ backlog?
