The list caught my attention. Especially the kukri and butterfly swords. But I soon rationalized myself out of those. Deciding if I buy another kukri, and I probably will at some point, it would be a custom from Nepal with a traditional scabbard. As for the butterfly, those blades looked good for thrusting, better than mine. Then realized the drill emphasizes a slice more than a thrust but most importantly the square cross section of the quillons would make reversing them hard and uncomfortable. And they are way too short for me, leaving too much of my arm exposed. My length is 15”. Oh well, when one is set on spending less money one excuse is as good as another.

Made a gamble and bought the Survival Katana for my wife as her first sword. She really liked it so now I guess I have to get her the Waki and Tanto. Darn XD

The kat blade handles like a dream but the full tang hilt is a bit heavy. I hope the jian is better balanced.

I didn't get it yet. Store made a mistake with the back in stock date.

I got the Jian today. 900 g, 2 lb, very well balanced, fast and agile, feels nearly weightless in the hand. The broadsword is 2 oz. heavier, 5" shorter (4" in the blade) has a broader blade with more blade presence. Fencer vs. slasher.

This is excellent information to have. Thanks for the update. I may have to do the Jian next myself, given this report.
I decided recently to pull the trigger on the Yataghan as Chicago Knife Works has a pretty great price with free shipping included.
