Any comparison here?
Looking to expand my durable apoc style collection. First saw zt in college in like 2006. Always wanted one but pricey.
Some of the apoc line interests me. Broadsword, long sword, Brutus.
Would zt be worth the premium? Do you get a lot more performance? Blade thickness?

sbg-sword-forum.forums.net/thread/66941/comparison-tactical-katana-apoc-hanweiIn general the APOCs are lighter, feel less indestructible and have more finesse in the blade geometry, f e. distal taper, fullers (thanks to ATrim), than comparable ZTs. I have the longer bladed ZTs and they're built like tanks but with some good changes in the blade geometry they're heavy but still maneuverable. My APOCs feel like normal swords of their size but I avoided the heavier ones like the cutlass or the gladius. The longsword has a really good XII blade with distal taper and lenticular cross section, usable one handed, you can sense ATrim's work.

Thank you, this is exactly the first-hand experience I am after! Reading your thread comparison as well!
Very nice.
Anyone compare the kukri versions of both zt and apoc?
Thinking of getting a longer sword version and then a (slightly) more practical version for hiking/camping/ attacking the overgrown Fangorn that my 2 acre yard has become...lol

You're welcome. For unscrupulous garden work I'd take a CS machete/sword machete, cutlass, tactical katana, royal kukri, Chinese broadsword.

APOC cutlass is a lot smaller than I envisioned. But Andi’s right. Very lightweight. Especially compared to a ZT.

I can’t speak to the APOC line, but ZT’s are very robust. They are also easy to sell if you tire of owning one. I like TFW more that ZT, but that’s just me.

I remembered the weight of the cutlass wrongly, the gladius is too heavy for my taste. The broadsword feels as sturdy as my ZTs, the katana has a very light blade and doesn't feel very sturdy, the longsword is a typical (good) longsword blade like the H/Ts, solid but not indestructible.
