Anyone seen this in the new BudK catalog yet? $299 tempered 1070. Looks exactly like the sbg master sword that was offered? Opinions....

FYI: BudK, True Swords, C H Kadels are all sister companies. Or the same company if you prefer.
Edit: just got my new catalog two days ago and did see this sword but I never played that game so doesn’t hold any interest for me. But Honshu has a new naginata that does interest me. Looks sweet.

But Honshu has a new naginata that does interest me. Looks sweet. ...why is it designed like a two-handed machete with a pole stuck on, as if an afterthought? 7cr13 I'm not familiar with, but I'm assuming it's the same as the rest of the Honshu line? 18" blade is okay, but how much of the 67" overall length is tang? Just the machete handle part? No interest in the Master Sword, myself...

So is it shaped like a machete or is that style of machete shaped like a naginata? Chicken/egg. That stainless steel is on the knives but not sure if all of them. I have the Honshu Bowie. Even though it’s stainless, it extremely magnetic. Not sure how it will do in a longer blade. I don’t think any of there swords are made with it. Looking at the pictures on BudK the tang goes close to where the pole gets smaller. Both screws go through the tang. I hope anyway. Personally I like a lot of the Honshu Boshin line but l like tactical weapons.

My machete comment was more toward the shape of the "handle" they...put a pole on? Weird design choice, considering you shouldn't be holding a pole weapon there...

Yea i just looked it up, what a strange spot of the handle to make ergonomic. I wonder what the idea behind that design choice was... Breaching? Gonna second paul tho, I'm a fan of these new tactical designs lately made of that crovan steel. I got the m48 dirk and tomahawk. My badly suppressed inner mall ninja buys them with shame

I got this for Christmas!
It's pretty well made for the cost. The scabbard is wood core and well done.
It comes sharp, which was unexpected. It's sturdy. The cutting edge begins after the blade flare so there was is very little usable blade.
An affordable usable master sword...this is what I was after and I'm pleased enough.

Just bought one of these and actually love it. The sword is lighter than I expected and all the fittings are tight. It's decent with a nice scabbard, also razor sharp. I do love windlass swords, who supposedly made this but it doesn't have their mark

Apparently shadiversity is doing a review on this sword next week where they are dismantling it and checking out the tang and doing some test cutting with one

I'm surprised I haven't. Seems like all you need is a flat heat screwdriver...

Not a fan of how many companies decided to directly plagiarize the Fable Blade versions of the Master Sword

To be fair I don't think Brenno has gotten Nintendos blessing to use the design either lol

To be fair I don't think Brenno has gotten Nintendos blessing to use the design either lol This I mean is true lol, if Nintendo even has a copyright when it comes to making weapons that are inspired from game designs. Albeit its distinctive and separate enough that I see it less an issue. But directly copying someone's own individual design that is another sword maker is pretty lame. Its pretty far deviated from the source material as is. And someone can get a video game accurate sword as a design if they wanted. It just won't be quite as functional lol. I know you are responding jokingly so I am not trying to be all seriousness, just kind of annoys me when people copy other individual designs from other bladesmiths.

Brennos is sooooo much better...
This >300 dollar one has a very big handle for a really little blade with tiny cutting area

I know this was technically copied from fable blades, but it actually seems like someone got one of the Sword Buyers Guide ones from a few years ago and improved it for this sword. SBG sold this almost exact same sword for $1000 a few years ago as an SBG exclusive. I bought one and returned it as the parts were held together with some type of glue. I'll ost the link
