Hi Folks. Continuing on as I started my sword making journey here at SBG 15 years ago, with a heap of blog / diary type posts of my adventures in sword making, I've just launched a Patreon channel with the intention of sharing where I'm at these days. I am offering a personal look at how I make swords, through lots of video blog posts and hands on discussion. Tonight I launched with my first exclusive post - an 18 minute video discussing my hilt assembly techniques. There are already several Free / Public scabbard making, and leather craft DIY Tips videos you can check out there from my current project. As well as an early bird look at the hilt parts of this wild 16th Century inspired bastard sword I'm working on for a member here. There's going to be a lot more insight into my work coming as I'm excited for the opportunity to share my work processes with you.
As you can see I'm excited and today I also made a 13 minute podcast type chat to discuss this new direction with an open and intimate look into my life as a sword maker. I'll plonk it here. I do hope you'll consider joining me for this adventure folks!!

Every time I realize how long you've been at this now, and how far you've come, I remember the days of you sharpening up Hanwei practical Euros. I think the Norman was the first? Maybe the second... Anyway, needless to say, things are a bit different now.

I quite liked the hand and half, which was a diamond cross section, before the triple fullered blade. Was never a fan of the 'Viking' Indeed time slips by when you're not watching, and looking back or ahead makes you feel so old - the only way to avoid it is presence. Age is a blessing not afforded to many, SO grateful to still be here with you guys and doing what I love. :-)

Age and health is good, but I know too many who are beyond me in age that have cautioned me against time's various attacks... Anyway, wow, 15 years. An international name. Not too shabby, brenno.

I've wanted a fable blades for bout 13 or so years I think it was. To believe I coukd have gotten one long time ago when brenno was willing to trade one for my guitar and amp haha.
Not that I have either anymore (it was an Ibanez guitar and a peavey valve king, if you are wondering)
