Hail friends, Here's my video review of the Tod Cutler Low-Status Bollock Dagger! Thanks in advance for watching. A quick correction - Tod's measurement INCLUDES the bolster and so it's accurate. My measurement of 14 1/4 inches did not factor in the bolster and peen. As a bonus, here are some detail photos of how it looked after a week in camp. As you can see here there are only minor scratches on the blade - nothing to fret about on a 'user' knife! There is a 'filler' of some kind between the shoulders of the blade and the slotted handle - I assume it is woodglue from what I have seen of Tod's methods on his YouTube channel. I will be scraping a little but of this out where it is thin and filling those spots with a little of my own wood glue to help keep water out of the slot. All in all, I would absolutely buy this dagger again or recommend it to a friend!

Thanks for the review.
I haven't bought a Bollock dagger either but own two Tod Cutler Quillon Daggers, good proportions and grips.
The Mid Status Bollock Dagger is on my shopping list. I sometimes call them D--- Picks when I see them on the Tod Cutler website.

Good stuff my friend, In all of my collection, I actually don't have a Bollock dagger yet but I would probably go with the Mary Rose model. Thank you, BroNat! What is it about the Mary Rose dagger that grabs you? I personally think it would be a lighter and more convenient bush knife given the octagonal handle and lighter blade. Here is the review I mentioned in my video (Very Survival) He's hilarious and I really enjoyed his review - if only I could be less stilted and more like him Arthur Dayne I affectionally call them D*ck-daggers or Kn*bKnives! You are thinking of the brass-capped one?

The mid status version has both the brass cap and guard detail that looks nicer in the leather sheath. The brass capped only one looks good too. Really hard to go wrong with either…

OH you are looking at the one that has the forward facing quillons! I was looking at that one too, but it's double edged and I uh... wanted to chop a tree..down...with it...

I think the Mary Rose looks masculine and aesthetic with the pronounced handle shape. I believe the handle shape seems a step above the others in terms of retention as well. It gives me the feeling that it's a serious weapon and thruster. That makes complete sense to me. It's certainly on my list (as are pretty much all Todd's offerings) of 'Things to get'! Did you see the video where he theorizes the handle shape is the result of being cut from a plank?

Now that you mentioned it, the Mary Rose looks like it has a better handling grip with more noticeable flat surfaces to help with edge alignment instead of all rounded. Sheath ain’t bad either.
I like how these D—- Picks are sturdy enough to slap and chop wood.

I like how these D—- Picks are sturdy enough to slap and chop wood. Yes indeed! I was on the fence about which TC knife I was going to get (Landesknecht, 14th C Quillon or LS Bollock) when I saw Very Survival's review of the Mary Rose. Once I realized how actually useful a single edge blade of this type could be, and that it was a working class blade at time of inception, I couldn't resist grabbing one. No regrets at all! Now I am right back to wondering what to get next again, though!

It is not a working dagger/knife unlike the majority of other bollock daggers on his site but for a military dagger it is great

It is both martial and a working knife. I have one and like it. Grip is not uncomfortable as it looks.

The mid-status is a great combat dagger. I have one and currently is one of my favorites. It is not a working dagger/knife unlike the majority of other semprinis on his site but for a military dagger it is great I love my TC Quillon I want to get his other quillon dagger as well at some point. The Landesknecht is a great dagger. So is the quillons he sells. If you want a hybrid look at the studded grip bollock dagger. It is both martial and a working knife.I have one and like it. Grip is not uncomfortable as it looks. I just love the brass grip of the landesknecht dagger. Imagining how it will tarnish with age is also super appealing - the thing is justart. I eyeballed that studded grip bollock one as well - in hindsight I think that the studs would really lend themselves to maintaining a steady grip. The twisting of the LS in the hand was pretty significant when performing some tasks. My 'modern' improvement to the grip would be to give it an 'oval' shape. That would really go a long way to helping one keep it in place. A teardrop shape might work as well. One of the great things about the everyman nature of the bollock dagger is that it's form factor lends itself to inexpensive production even today. Marshall historical makes a curved single-edge variant that I very much want to explore and it's usually sold for $40-$60. Comes with a bad sheath but the blade looks fun! Waiting on a restock of Marshal Historical stuff in North America to buy it, only available from France right now. For now, I love all my Tod Cutler pieces!
