This bowie knife is kind of a sleeper but I find it to be a great knife even though you do not hear much about it. The knife is made by the company Linder in Solingen Germany and is made of 440c stainless. and is about 1/4th inch thick at the spine and just over 1'' 1/2'' inch across and the blade is right at 7'' in length with a full tang grip just under 4'' 1/2 inches with walnut scales. This knife hits well above it's weight and even in a slightly dull state as recieved still managed to shop great as you can see in the above image with the thin saber grind. After sharpening and a little reprofileing this knife holds a razor sharp edge and chops and delimbs with ease. Where it really shines is chopping thumb and finger thick branches that would be a bit difficult with a hatchet. After my edge work the knife does small tasks and feathersticking pretty respectably and I even managed to get a good clean bottle slice with little resistance. The sheath I found to be perfect out of the box and is of a historic pattern but with modern features like the velcrow keeper. It is made of thick leather with good stiching and execution. In conclusion if you want a good German made bowie of a classic historic German pattern this is a pretty good knife as long as you don't mind a little edge work. The knife is well put together and has great fit and finish and is of a historic pattern.

mrstabby: Mine gets pressed to the top as well, but that way the tip gets ground of, don't like that either. Unfortunately I'm an edge-perfectionist. Also one wrong move when unsheathing and the throat nicks the edge on either side.

AndiTheBarvarian: When I draw the saber it's automatically pressed with the spine to the scabbard so there's space for the edge to not touch the scabbard. When the false edge starts it's released but can be carefully draw completely without touching the scabbard.

AndiTheBarvarian: Too little gap for a needle, so also I see no way to get the glue in.

mrstabby: I was easily able to poke through the glue on all of my Windlass swords/daggers, then it just seems to wick in forever, it never was thick. I can't imagine how there isn't any dulling though, unless yours is less wide or the scabbard is bigger.
