I'm just really digging ottoman and mongolian sabers, also info on how they are worn would rock.

Viktor Berbekucz has done other steppe and Ottoman swords; all have looked good. Manning Imperial has done some very nice steppe sabres, which could work as Mongol swords. If you're serious about getting a Mongol sword, the first thing that you should do is get this book: De l'épée scythe au sabre mongol. It's in French, but the pictures are good. I don't know of a good reference specifically for Kilij, but Arms and Armor from Iran has some nice examples, with measurements.

I bought it second hand for 300€ in all from Gabriele Becattini over at myArmoury.com, who originally commissioned it. I'll be the first to admit that was base theft on my part. It feels just as lovely as it looks. Viktor Berbekucz is a Hungarian smith who's indeed done a number of these Mid-Eastern/East-European sabers and other associated weapons. He's affordable and seems to do very good work - the store seems to be closed for Christmas, but he has several in-stock models and a couple different bare blades, and will take custom orders as well.

What really got me attracted were vince evens kilij makes, they look so pretty with white ivory handles and lightly curved blades, I'm looking for stuff in that vein.

Oh man, Vince Evans... his PictureTrail is just full of wonders. Of course, he's understandably not cheap and last I checked was not taking on commissions, anymore.

Ohh yeah I'm aware he isn't doing new stuff, but either way that got me into those type of swords. My Gmail isn't compatable with berbekucz hungarian email, so how would I order? Also how are his prices?

Er... e-Mail is an international standard protocol. Hungarian e-Mail is the exact same as any other e-Mail, and perfectly compatible with Gmail - there's nothing at either end that could possibly be incompatible. Might be the link you're clicking isn't functioning, of course; try putting in the address - info@berbekuczviktor.hu! - by hand. Judging by his catalogue I'd guess, for something on the order of my saber, you can expect to pay in the ballpark of 300-350€ for sword and scabbard (plus shipping, customs, VAT and all that third-party international killjoy stuff). Fancier materials and decoration would increase the price, of course...

Right now one Euro is $1.37 US, so yeah, about that. I should get a good kilij, myself. Keep eyeing antiques lustfully but I can't keep my money long enough.
