I don't post here much, just mainly lurk around learning what I can, but I have noticed his absence. Hard not to really...
This is the part I find most concerning. It's not unusual for someone to 'go dark' on the web after a tragedy such as pgandy suffered, but not responding to friends is something else entirely. I truly hope he is OK and will keep him in my prayers.
Intentionally not answering his personal email or being on the forum for 3 months seems like something PGANDY would never do , especially considering his level of activity, communication and openness on this forum. He divulged the tragedy regarding his daughter with us and seemed to take comfort and strength doing so, and he also took his position as a senior forum administrator seriously. I thought that maybe going to the states for the funeral and visiting home/family/friends would take some time, but not answering a single email or getting on the forum once for such a long time is worrying.

I thought the same, a month maye two for personal affairs, but not logging in when he normally looked in daily and not answering to mails looks bad. I found his youtube account a while ago and wasn't as active there as he was in th forum, but he was pretty active over all, even with the whole personal tragedy. Don't know if I could do the same. Just so sudden, if he knew he would go away for a while he would have told someone, no?

I think we all knew he was going to take some time, and I hope he is doing just that. He can take as much time as he needs, he will always be part of out family here.
My hope is that others are taking care of him, now. Not that he isn't one of the most strongly independent folks I've met, but there are times when you need to put things down and let others carry you for a bit.
My best wishes for good health and healing go out to him, he is dearly missed by many.

Still nothing? - Sometimes no news is bad news I guess.

Definitely troubling. Was watching some of his kukri videos on YouTube the other day. Praying he is okay wherever he is.

I just now found out about this, and I don't have the words. So tragic.

Have to assume the worst at this point. He was simply too involved in this forum/community as a senior moderator and active hobbyist to not have resurfaced by now. If we hear from him again it will be a true and welcome miracle. Until then, RIP.

If we hear from him again it will be a true and welcome miracle. Until then, RIP. Indeed. And I wanted to show off the Kukuri to him, he made me buy. I was very much on the fence, but he seemed to think it's a must for everybody to have at least one. Or ten.
Another library of real life knowledge gone.

I've seen a lot of people walk away from forums when something in life is more pressing; and the more traumatic the more likely that will happen. That does not mean they are a corpse . Besides "trauma" one has to consider personal security and legal ramifications when these things happen. Often, not adding info online is the smart thing.

Nobody really knows anyone on a forum, but sure doesn't seem to be in his particular nature. But...you are right, and crazier things have happened, and I'd be both surprised and OVERJOYED if he pops up saying the scumbag murderer is sentenced to prison and he can now comfortably continue on the forum, apologizing for his absence after heeding an overabundance of cautiousness.

Pgandy would send me the nicest e-cards for Christmas. I may never have met him, but he'd always be welcome at my table.

Even a thing like an illness or change in health status changes priorities. I don't think those of you who are close to him should give up hope. If his name hasn't cropped up in the newspapers , then it's jumping the gun to assume the worst. Fingers crossed we'll see him again yet
