Hi all, The time has come for me to let go of the crown jewel in my collection - the Albion Alpha-Omega. Essentially a hollow-ground Albion Munich, with a flare for fantasy in its furniture. Pics below, please pardon the camera quality: imgur.com/N4qsfklimgur.com/ehydPehimgur.com/s6iMD6Kimgur.com/FFwOpUqimgur.com/NhJiDc4imgur.com/Jg5cZE6imgur.com/6DMwfIfimgur.com/ZdHKflGI originally got this baby from fellow forumite, Kaiyo. I can't for the life of me remember who the scabbard maker was, but it's quite a sturdy wood-core affair. Both sword & scabbard are in excellent condition, and the blade is bloody sharp. I've never used it for testing cutting, but am sure it would perform admirably. Hoping to get 2,700 USD out of this, including world-wide shipping (except where sword imports are forbidden, of course). I'll do a discount to $2,600 incl. postage if payment is through Paypal F&F. I'm aware I don't post or buy/sell stuff on this forum very often, but each occasion has gone without a hitch. Any questions, please ask.

The recent and ongoing British regulations have been a topic of prime discussion here this past year. Would you be able to elaborate further on this, please? I'll be relocating to the UK mid-next year, and their regulations / restrictions seem labyrinthine compared to Australia. As far as I can tell they outright ban(?) katanas made after 1954 & other curved swords, but straight-bladed swords are ok? I can't find anything on whether licenses, import approvals etc. are required at all?? Thank you.

Hi everyone, I recently chanced across an etsy & ebay vendor, VTdaggers from Tbilisi, Georgia, who sells incredibly beautiful Caucasian pieces - shashka, khanjali, that sort of thing. The prices are quite reasonable for what you seem to get, but are still fairly big investments. So, before I take the plunge, has anybody made a purchase from them before & if so, what was your experience please? Are the pieces fully functional rather than just really fancy wall hangers? Any feedback would be very much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello everyone, I've been lurking on SBG for years now, and have finally decided to come on board (time & again). And what better way, indeed, than to showcase my latest commission - my pride and joy: This Roman spatha, my first commission from Longship Armoury, started its life as a Mainz gladius à la the Albion Augustus (but with pattern welding). Along the way, I then became absolutely smitten with Patrick Barta's swords, in particular that denoted as the Einang type. James & John at Longship were most kind to accommodate to my whim, and fast forward a year this baby landed on my doorstep. Needless to say my mind was blown. It was by very far the most beautiful sword I've ever held. At 85 cm & approx 900 gr, it's fairly light & nimble, allowing for prolonged use; yet at the same time with a width of about 5 cm at base, its blade presence is absolutely beastly. Test cutting against the succulent plants in my backyard proved no challenged whatsoever. The bear paw etching I'm well aware is not historically accurate, but it is a personal touch that makes this my very own, unique sword, and no other's. Even my wife, who sadly despises my obsession with pointy-ended objects, was very grudgingly impressed with the spatha overall. With luck (and the wife's *ahem* blessing), I certainly hope this will not be my last order with Longship. I've attached a couple more pictures below for your viewing pleasure. Please excuse the poor quality in some of the shots; my phone's camera is on its last legs, it seems. Cheers, Edit: Apologies for the image size stretching the screen; how do I re-size the attachments, please? Attachments:
