I've only got 2 , the 1860 union troopers sabre and the Pirate Captain's Hanger! , of the 2 my favourite's the Hanger , it's a fun little sword , handles nicely and rings like a bell when I cut with it

Just a quick video cutting with my new Hanger ,ordered it sharpened but wasn't happy with the edge ,(cut paper kind of but baseball bat a bottle!), touched it up and it's much better now, also makes a nice ting when it cuts

kalkikrosah i've had no problems pulling the pick out ,needs a bit of a wiggle depending what you hit but it pretty much comes straight out!

I have that hammer and it is a solid piece , i've hit things from 2 litre bottles full of water ,(very satisfying explosion when hit ;) ) to wood and sheet metal with no issues and the head staying firm with no movement - only thing I dont like or rather would prefer was different is the shaft ,it's a little thin in my hand and a little too square ,the corners dig in to ungloved hands ,but it does make it easy to align the head for strikes!

I wonder if they've decided to treat the rest of their range like they've done with their Roman gear ,apparently the new stuff is pretty good now.

My first katana that I bought for Iaido ,it was ok but had a tendency to bend if you pushed it against something :o ,bend it back the other way and it was fine....Just as an experiment I hit it edge to edge with my Kabar ,result was the Kabar cut into the katana and didn't even mark the coating on the Kabar (rofl)

shing thanks ,I used some 3mm leather thong to re-wrap the grip ,fun part was keeping it tight as I wrapped and not getting super glue everywhere or glueing myself to the grip...

looking at the listing something that's a little more than just suss is he's posted as not accepting returns on the item despite this from ebay pages.ebay.com.au/help/buy/contextual/return-policy.html and Australian law. Sword might be good and a great price atm if him or his mate don't jack the prices up with the false bids but I'd be staying well away from this "Bargain"

This girls scream sounds worse than a horror movie and she would have chopped her ponytail off at 50 seconds if it was an actual shinken lol. ummm....I wonder how many have tried the squatting on the blade thing she does with a live blade and suddenly found they cant walk after they've cut the tendons at the back of their knees ;-|

Been watching the ridge line behind my place since last night and most of today ,fires burning behind it and been slowly heading this way! ,wife and kids went to a friends and I stayed to watch the place so been a little bit interesting watching the smoke sort of fade into haze then suddenly massively plume up and go black...
friend rang us about 0130ish wanting us to sit with her kids till her partner got home ,she had to go evacuate her horses and others from their stables ,not enough floats to go around so multiple trips there.

thanks for the idea's and suggestions guys ,looks like the cold steel machete's out after looking at all the Nepalese beauties at the Khukuri house ,I've narrowed it down to a couple of blades either www.thekhukurihouse.com/catalog/product.php?id=313635f87 or www.thekhukurihouse.com/catalog/product.php?id=323035fc2012 ,I'm sort of leaning towards the Defender at the moment. I hadn't considered a real Khukri due to the Gurkha military aspect of the knife, (I'm ex Army and I know what those knives mean to the Ghurka's when they earn them ,been there my self after various training courses and the feeling you get when you pass and it may sound silly but I thought didn't earn it dont use it!) ,reading up on the history of the Khukri on the website and it's wide spread use in Nepal means as long as i dont buy a issue military version I'm ok ,silly I know but *shrug*

Originals My scabbards. The WW2 type is the plain one. Another original. This one is held together by staples instead of rivets. Both are period correct. I've had one of these guys for over 30 years ,bought it when I was in the Army in the 80's and have used it ever since ,first in the Army then camping etc after I got out - the pommel and grip looks in the same condition as the one in the photo and it's got a stapled scabbard aswell- best knife I've ever owned
