some time ago i picked up a toledo made arming sword for dirt cheap (yes i know toledos arent actually "swords" but thats not the point) and it is by far the prettiest in my collection but i just noticed something rather peculiar... i noticed on the cover of one of my star trek novels (dont judge) that the sword depicted there is almost identical my sword book cover When i recognized the similarity i just had to share it here cause i got both of them completely seperate from each other and at completely diffrent times and yet here they sit and its all i can do to not giggle at the irony of the world... lol

Sotark, cool discovery man. CN, that such is the case does nothing to take away from the surprise factor- at least for me. Especially on a Star Trek novel.

I've always kind of liked the looks of the Charles V swords. As ubiquitous as the Tinzona and Colada Cid swords, they come in an amazing variety. While I am not one to collect decorative swords, collecting any one model could be a life long pursuit. Some of the Charles V swords are quite rusticatable and would look ok on anyone's wall.
Cheers
Hotspur; It is probably normal that those that think of a typical sword are most exposed to the decorative/hysterical (sic) sword models.

granted it is a decorative sword but it was 60 bucks and it is just SO pretty... the gold plating and engraving on the blade is superb

that's cool! a spinny coincidence eh? that must have been a surprise, haha,
I think decorative swords definitely have their place, they are great for their designed purpose and if used as such, have a place in anyone's collection.
that however is just a plain cool discovery.
