Hey Sparks,
Good cutting mate. You're son was very keen to have a go, and at the end it seemed like he didn't want to give the sword back! ;D
I recommend, if you can, going to a class and starting a sword art. It would help your form dramatically.
One little issue I have is the safety of your cutting. You were cutting so close to the fence that it is scary. Mabye that is just the angle, though.
And I have no beef with your kid cutting (because I was cutting at 12 ;D) but try to keep them out of the arc. If that blade had of come out of the handle, again, that is scary.
Overall it was very good though. Interesting cut on the rope, nice work.
Thanks, -Tajima

"Like a surgeon, cuttin' for the very first time......Like a sur-er-er-er-goen".........don't ask. I don't think I've ever seen a cowboy with a katana before either. +1 for that hat.

I was using the fence to help control were people could be kwim. I have five kids, plus whatever neighborhood kids are at our house, and the fence sorta gave me an area that My wife or I didn't have to watch. The poor trash can was about five foot off of the fence. Dang you scared me with the arc, didn't think about the blade coming out of the handle. I did remember the dude who let his sword go And I had one heck of a grip on it. I do appreciate advice and criticism, this is how I'll learn and one reason I love SBG. So thanks Tajima
