I am looking to rebuild my "Templar Knight" kit for the local medieval festival. Many many years ago I sold my kit to buy my fiance a car because she got a brand new job. Months later she cheated on me and then just left along with the car.
Sadly the only picture that shows part of my kit (fiance took all her photos with her including all the ones she took of me) I can't show here since it's a picture of said fiance wearing nothing but the cloak (no I'm not going to send it privately to anyone ;D)
So first off what sword would people suggest. I would be looking for something functional since they have a better heft and balance than cheap SLO's.
Anything else that people would suggest for this kit would be greatly appreciated. I'm not looking for 100% authentic historical.

Drache, she dumped you AND took the car? I'd have posted her pic all over the interwebz 72 hours later. Twitter? No, TWATTER. But that's just me.
Ok, so...I saw on the classifieds that kristie is selling her KOH Tiberias sword (its actually the sword of Guy) - if you don't get it I might. Its a decent sword (even tho the pommel is not peened but who cares right); I've always liked it. If its for your Templar getup, you could hardly go wrong with that one. Its not 100% historical either! Forgot to post the link: /index.cgi?board=selling&action=display&thread=9561
By the by, I have a Templar warkit myself...what's yours look like?

I no longer have a kit anymore due to selling it for the car :-P Anyways I sort of looked like Guy from Kingdom of Heaven right down to the chainmail. So not historical but everyone seemed to like it. I didn't have a furry cloak, just a white one with a large red cross on the back and one on the outsides of one shoulder shoulder, and a huge white hood. Anyways I'm not looking for a sword at this instant just trying to open my options.

There's always the VA signature series Crusader and Templar if you don't mind waiting a while, and I think Darksword makes a hand and a half Templar sword with a Latin inscription on the blade that was supposed to be pretty good.

How much are you looking to spend?

If you're looking on more of a budget, consider Kult of Athena's medieval swords: www.kultofathena.com/swords-medieval.htm --they run the gamut from SLO's to pricey, historically accurate pieces that can be used for live steel/ stage combat (ie. the Albion swords at the lower end of the page-- if you're looking for historically accurate, the Albion blades are my recommendation to you ). --Edward

I would be looking for a blade to "cut" with and not do any battle with. I'm not too worried about 100% historical.
As for price spending really it doesn't matter and it does. The more I spend on the blade the less I will spend on the rest of the kit.

I'd say KOA is a good bet too where you can get a good kit of a good price
