makers marks / serial numbers and blade etchings would give a better indication.

Do you have more photos of the sword? Nothing immediately jumps out as wrong with it, but etchings and a closer look at the details will help. If you have more pics available to you I will offer my opinion.

Those are the only pics in the ad although I'm sure I could ask for more if need be. I'm not buying it, the ad just jumped out at me.

The antiques market is a bit hit or miss when it comes to swords IMO; I mean...there are some really good forgers out there these days- so much so it gets harder and harder to tell'm apart from actual originals.
