just saw this over on myArmoury...
noted custom sword-smith Paul Champagne passed away over the week-end of a heart attack. If you don't know of him, he was featured on the History Channel program - "Knives, Swords and Axes" and also is on the "Reclaiming the Blade" documentary.
Prayers & thoughts for the Champagne family....

Another armourer passes.
Tarry Not at the Shore
Tarry Not at the Shore When the White Ships set sail we set our sights for Valinor as we stand at the rail...
Tarry Not with long goodbyes for the Company departs Into the West where eternity lies to heal broken hearts.
Tarry Not in pain and sorrow for the Road beckons now we head for the long tomorrow as white caps break upon our bow.
Tarry Not child of man we have room left for you come aboard and take the hand we have many tasks left to do.
Tarry Not at the Shore we're off to a better place you'll live with us forevermore here beyond time and space...

Oremus. Omnipotens sempiterne Deus, respice in Cor dilectissimi Filii tui, et in laudes et satisfactiones, quas in nomine peccatorum tibi persolvit, iisque misericordiam tuam petentibus tu veniam concede placatus, in nomine eiusdem Filii tui Iesu Christi: Qui tecum vivit et regnat in saecula saeculorum. R. Amen.
In English:
Let us pray. O almighty and eternal God, look upon the Heart of your dearly-beloved Son and upon the praise and satisfaction He offers You on behalf of sinners and, being appeased, grant pardon to those who seek your mercy, in the name of the same Jesus Christ Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. R. Amen.
May God rest his soul.

Alas, Yet another mighty artist passes from this world,
My Heart goes out to those he left behind.
May you forge blades for the Gods now Paul, rest well.

Very sad news indeed... My thoughts echo avery's... Paul wasn't that old... and he looked to be in good shape... it's so sad to see him struck down in this way. Life is so fragile, so precious... let us try and cherish it, and one another, more... ...because you never know what day may be your last. My heart goes out to his family today.

Bugger, I wanted one of his swords as well.
First Jody and now Paul, I hope that this reminds us all that our lives are fleeting, as of chaff, the wind passes over and the world knows us no longer.
