Tourist item. I would blame Mexico or South America first. Here is a really weird knife for you. However, it comes with a provenance and the cost of a couple of cheap swords could have been anyone's. Beauteous, one of a kind, genuwhine, real sandbar dual antler and original nife pokit. Cheers Hotspur; the silly stuff I grab when no one else wants itP.S. Here's another relative bargain

I know the jade knife is nowhere worth what they are asking.
The knife that you posted with the really weird looking blade, I got to see a pocket knife that had a blade like that and was supposedly metal from a meteorite (so said the box) and had a really hefty price tag!

That top one is L6 and O1 steel that was sandwhiched and then twisted like a barber pole. Vince Evans www.arscives.com/vevans/The bottom is from Kevin Cashen in the early 1990s JS for journeyman smith www.cashenblades.com/I have a folder by Vince as well that surfaced on the secondary market. A simple random folded pattern on that one, also the early years. Although I have spent a fair amount of money on knives over the years, most have been well used while some probably at least hold their value as "examples of". Cheers Hotspur; the raptor form is very Chilean condor but Mexico still gets my first impression

How's about they pay *me* that money to take it off their hands. ;D
Nope; just wouldn't pay that much for *that* knife.

Interesting Knifes. These aren't really weird and they don't cost $3500. But they are one of a kind custom made knifes. A good friend of mine makes these and yes they and many others are for sale. The handle on this one is Fossilized Giraffe Bone More of Bill's work can be seen on his Knife Maker Gallery pages
