It may sound like paranoia on my part team, but hear me out. The VA/Atrim swords are almost here and that means they'll be shipping out soon. Now, take a glance at my location under my avatar. New Zealand... According to google that's a good 7,810 miles or 12,569 kilometers to god's own country from the U.S. I've suddenly been overcome with this sudden fear that some numpty courier is going to stand the sword up somewhere and let it take a set or do something equally sacrilegious to said sword on the long trip downunder. I've ordered the sword from the SBG store and that part doesn't worry me AT ALL but the trip does worry me Perhaps I just don't have faith in any postal services anymore... anywho, is this fear justified? Or is it just paranoia?

If you get the sword and it is fine then...........you are paranoid......this time. If you get the sword and it is damaged.........or it just disappears......then your fears are justified and you were right all along! It could go either way of course but the vast majority of shipments turn out just fine so the odds are with you for a happy outcome! ;D

You'll get your parcel all-right ! The only thing that worries me everytime I open a parcel from overseas, is the fact how it has been handled by Customs. They always "re wrap" the item in a decent way ... but how have they handled the blade for instance. I immediately give it a good cleaning and a good oil bath ... just to be on the safe side ... anyway I wouldn't loose any sleep over it !

Aye, Chris, no point in fretting as yet. Out of your hands. My VA "atrims" are tough, take more'n a careless courier to hurt em, I figure. Yup.

Have no feat, Chris... I'm sure the VA swords will be packaged well. I've had swords come all the way from China to me and have been fine... in fact, the only time I had a sword damaged from shipping was when it took a reltivly short trip from there to hear... everything I've gotten that travled far has been fine. No worries, man.

O I don't know. You should be afraid. I think your fears are justified...
Just kidding! Probably will be handled less for the distance then if it was shipped across town. Who knows.

I've got more than 30 swords from China to Norway, and I had one cracked saya. That was because of insufficient packaging. I've also had packages come with big dents, but the swords were fine. So the chances something will happen are small.

It is natural to worry about something you care about- whether it be human, animal or steel. I think we worry more about the steel at times because if it gets abused, it can't necessarily tell us WHAT happened, we must speculate based on the various injuries it has received.
I have visions of brawny swordsmen converging on the nearest UPS facility, watching to see how their latest acquisitions are handled...you know what'll happen as soon as the first sword box hits the ground harder than it would had someone placed it gently there, right? Right. lol
