You guys have been A LOT of help. I just got back from the knife shop where the sword was purchased (4 years ago) and the owner confirmed that it is a Paul Chen Practical Plus Elite. The original retail is $419 and the shop owner suggested I try eBay for $250-$300.
Since I don't want to screw around on eBay I am going to post it here in hopes I will get a quick/solid offer. I should have it in the classified section within the hour.
Thanks again for the help!

The all black one seems to be a Paul Chen (Hanwei) Practical Plus MSRP around 400, and for the other one a basic Chinese replica sword selling for around $40-$100 I would say. EXCEPT, I do not think Mr. Chen dealt with 440c stainless steel so, I do not think that it is a PPK. It might be one of those 'better made' stainless katanas like what you see on the budk website, terms like 'Dark Orient sword' and what not. The second one with the intricate handle could be stainless as well, even if it does not say so...depends on who made it and when. For the OP: unless that second sword is some kind of unique and original functional sword, you're looking at a net worth of maybe $150-200, but no more than that. Those swords were probably bought from a merchant for full price; one of my ex's actually paid the full $289 for the Glamdring when it first come out as well as $189 for the Daywalker sword, plus $30 to have it engraved with my name. Even though things did not work out, the swords were mine and I still have them. Unless you need the money, someone shows interest or you really do not like them, I'd keep'm.

I think you got those backwards. The obvious wallhanger is obvious, and is the one with the stainless steel stamp.

I think we should point out at this point that the one with 440 stamped on it is not safe to use. It is a decorative object, no more. 440 means it's a type of stainless steel, and stainless steel is too brittle for sword usage.

Ah, you might be right there, steve, kudos for pointing that out.

yes, it is the practical plus katana, and i think you could have around 150.00-175.00 for it,(maximum)
as for the one with decorated handle and stainless steel blade, i am not sure you could sell it here since it isn't a real blade. and, if you sell it,, it would be arounf 50.00 not more. my opinion
