Hey all. So I have a friend who's interested in swords. He's fairly new to the hobby; has a lot of SLO's but nothing of higher quality. So as a combination xmas and birthday gift, my girlfriend and I are going to go halves on an entry level functional sword for him. What I'm looking for is a sub $150 sword with potential for customization. I'm leaning towards Windlass since their typically good for mod jobs. One that caught my eye as one with good potential is the Late European Bastard Sword... museumreplicas.com/p-218-european-bastard-sword.aspxAll I'm really looking for is a sword with a decent heat treatment, durable, and that has serviceable hilt furniture. The latter looks ok from the photos, but as always, Windlass blades can be hit and miss (whippy). So my question is has anyone handled this particular sword, and if so can you tell me more about it? Thanks in advance! -JM

What grabbed your attention about that sword? I considered that one myself. I've been thinking about making a trip there soon... but they got this ticker on the website now talking about the 'big sale' in like 28 days or so... so I'm kinda curious what thats all about. Maybe we can cordinate... since I'll be going that way sometime soon myself. ;D

Indeed. I was glad to learn the 10% walk in discount also is valid on the last chance items. Do you know anything about this impending sale they are talking about on the website?
