To BloodWraith: I disagree that smoothing out a secondary bevel is easier than starting from scratch. I've done both and so far correcting the secondary bevel has been much more of a pain in the ass. I'll be testing this for myself very soon... it took me forever to get rid of the secondary bevel on my CAS Celtic... soon I'll be sharpening an onsharpened Windlass and DSA... so I'll have some comparasion.

I like em both. If I just had to get one, I'd get the LS because it can be used with one or two hands. Really better to have both I think, a set.

well as soon as i can scrounge up enough cash to get one im gonna splurge for the LS because in theory i believe it to be a more versatile weapon system allowing for more techniques for it has one and two handed capabilities and decent in defence as well as in offense... not that ill need to be defending against anything...
and i think it looks absolutely stunning +1 k

not to try and change your mind, I think the longsword is great, here's some video of the arming sword in action.
wow some of that cutting was terrible. sorry I was still getting back into the swing of things (pun intended) but ummm yeah, I really like this sword. I really like the practical longsword too but I just recently got it.
BONUS! here's some more of the Longsword:
My friend Hiroshi cuts with the longsword. it's his first time swinging a western sword

Me? I'm all about western swords and particularly single handers. don't get me wrong, I love katana and longswords and all the rest but a good arming sword really lights my fire and this one is REALLY good.

ive always been more into western weapons and i love the feel of a longsword in my hands but i will have at least 1 of each type of sword (once i get each type of sword) in my collection
ill probably go for the LS first

I would go with the Dark Sword Armoury swords, plus they have a Norman sword. You can't go wrong with them.

well, I know plenty of people do like the DSA swords, and I've never handled one but they all seem too heavy for my tastes just by looking at the stats. I guess it's all up to what you like.
