Hello, I would like to know what your impressions are of this sword kultofathena.com/product~item~CS88WGS~name~Cold+Steel+Two+Handed+Great+Sword.htm(copy and paste) anyways, It's big, and a ring-hilt, which I kinda like, but have never handled in person, so if anyone has handled this sword I would like to know what you think. I know that there was a review of it somewhere, but I can't seem to find it. 1 Karma to whoever finds it for me! thanks people!

The structural integrity problems identified in suvurov's review would really worry me. That thing should be designed to take a hammering and built like a tank. Having it fail is warring.

well, it's basically the same thing that happened to me. My Two-handed Gothic sword (the first one) broke, one of the quillions broke off but, Paul talked to Eyal and they sent me a new sword it was lighter, longer, and shinier however, seeing the review of the terrible one has made up my mind, I'd rather not deal with another breaking sword. Thanks guys! Karmas! (yes rick, you AND the reviewers...once I recharge)

If you're just looking for another big sword to sit beside your Gothic, the Hanwei Tinkerline type XIIIa should be out pretty soonish.

But it will not be what one would call a real two hander.

XIIIa's are pretty large, Luka. Grips up to ten inches and blades up to forty inches...They're called Great Swords for a reason. ;D

Yes, I know, but compare them with CS two handed great sword. XIIa and XIIIa's are BIG swords but they are still big bastard swords, often used one handed by a mounted warrior. Real two handers are 5 or 6lb and can't really be used one handed. Tinker great sword will be 3.25lb I think.

Biggest I've seen is maybe the XX or some XVII, and to be frank, they aren't but a few inches longer than the XIIIa's I've seen (The XX being the largest, with some being....ridiculously huge).
I could easily fit two hands on an XIIIa with room to spare, and I've got fairly large hands (not bear paws, but pretty close).
I can see what you mean about them not being the big dogs in the pack, but I'm not sure if I could call them bastard swords.

There is not much point in calling them either bastard or two handers. There are XIIIa's with 85 and 110cm blades. The smallest would function as a bit bigger than usual singlehanders and biggest would be true two handers. So we are both right.

Just an opinion, but I'd say get a Hanwei Claymore- plenty big enough and not too much of an investment. Head and shoulders above the CS 2-hander

It's a hell of a decision for anyone looking to get the CS Great Sword. One very positive review and one very negative review. Personally I'd love to see a third review confirming either observation. (I know more than 2 people have to have the CS Great Sword simply because of the attention its been receiving!)
