My two everyday "pocket" knives with the top one carried most frequently. I normally carry them behind my pants' waistband in front of my body. Top - Cold Steel Rajah II, Bottom - Benchmade McHenry and Williams

These are what I typically pick from before leaving: Sorry for the dark picture; weather sucks today and I'm too lazy to turn the light on. At any given point in time I'll have the SOG (the multitool), the clipless folder, one of the other three folders (with pocket clips) and either the Kabar or the Sting (the black one) on me. The little Gerber Artifact (a spiffy little thing I found for $10 a couple weeks ago) I keep on my keychain, so it's always handy. Depending on my mood I sometimes use other knives, but lately I've been using the Gerber (gray, skeletal frame) as the Winchester (top left, the smallest; light wood) and the other (the black handle with the funny patterns on the blade) tend to not stay so sharp these days... The Gerber is actually dirty in the picture as I just used it to peel an orange and haven't cleaned it off yet. (It wasn't supposed to show ) Lately I keep the Sting on my belt but sometimes if Im feeling formal I'll wear the Kabar instead. I used to have a Kanetsune Akatsuki which I adored until I screwed up the edge and haven't been able to fix it yet. I also broke the tip off once, throwing it at the floor in frustration after the stone I was using not only wouldn't put a proper edge on it, but scratched it horribly if I tried, but I reground it since. Here's a picture of it as it was new: (tweaked the original picture a bit in photobucket; should be better now)

Those "things" did better with Coke.

Nice selection randomnobody. Reminds me of what Jim West use to pick from before he left on a mission... Have you ever thrown the CRKT "Sting"? I've got one, and while it's not terribly well balanced, it sticks lick a MOFO!

Random: opinions on the kanetsune? I have been considering adding one of their knives to my collecting, I would love to add mai, but that little girl is out of my price range.

Kanetsune knives are good, I loved my Akatsuki till I screwed up the edge. I'm thinking of getting another Kanetsune, either another Akatsuki or maybe a Shun with my next paycheck... Here is where I broke the tip off throwing it at the floor all angry-like after it wouldn't sharpen and the scratches got too bad (damn diamond stones...): Note the scratches. The Sting throws pretty well once you figure out the balance; I can stick it nicely if I try. Haven't thrown it in a while, though...its edge has kind of died, too. Here's where I reground the tip:

SWEET collection, Marc! What's that long one at the top? some sort of bayonette, maybe? -Slayer Thanks... Funny story about that top one... It was a Bud K "ninja sword" given to me by someone that knew I liked swords, but knew nothing about them... This one... I was determined to make it something useful, so I cut it up past the blade slots... made a tang out of some of the blade... cut down the "tsuba" into a cross... drilled out the "pommel" and peened it... did a bit of creative hourglass shaping on the tang using small pieces of wood and putty , and then wrapped it it nylon rope for a grip... HA ... LOL it is COMPLETELY jacked up and homemade... but its better than it started out ... LOL

Well, I LOVE it! If that thing was actually manufactured, I'd buy it in an instance, lol. Did you ever find out whether it's stainless or carbon? -Slayer

Nice collection Marc. I recognize some of them.
The knife just below the, I think that it's a U.S. Air Force survival knife, looks similar to a knife I had many, many years ago and gave it to my oldest Son. Can't remember the Brand, but know that it was a quality name. My Son used it for skinning out deer and was real happy with it for that purpose. He could "cosy up" to the blade for more delicate work by placing his thumb on the top of the blade for a better purchase.
Great job on the transformation of the sword!!
You're welcome Slayer. It's pretty large, has a stainless steel blade, which many poo poo, but it's well made of quality materials and an overall good quality knife.

Right-o mates, here're my every day knives. CS Tiger. I've always been a huge fan of Karambits and eventually I'll get one made by Brenno... I occasionally swap that out for my Double Agent I As for my everyday folder, the Black Rock Hunter, also by CS And for those days when I just don't feel like being pleasant, the infamous Rajah II replaces my Black Rock. I know there's already been pictures up of this knife, but I prefer to see knives in hand to get a feel for how big they are. This thing is a BEAST!!!

Thanks Jim... the one below the OKC survival knife is a Schrade Old Timer... a nice little skinner...
I guess the best one there ... or at least the most collectable , is the Olsen OK hunter... straight across from the OKC

Some formidable knives bryn. The grip that you are using in the photos of the Cold Steel Tiger an Rajah II...I've seen it before. But I've never learned just how it should be used. I can visualize it being used with sorta upward, diagonal cuts to the left and right and horizontally to the left and right. Is there a fighting "style" that uses this grip? Schrade Old Timer! I knew that it was an excellent quality brand Marc. For some reason, I want to think that it had the word "Finger" as part of the model name. But, it has been a long, long time, and I tend to forget things after a long time has passed..two weeks or so anyway.

There sort of is? I'm actually just holding it like that for variety and because it fit in the picture frame that way. That said, when feeling the blade out, so to speak, I have held it like that and the potential is there for some very nasty backhands. As for an actual fighting style, if you flip the blade 'round so that the edge points inward but you're still using it in an icepick grip, it can serve as a HUGELY oversized pikal platform. Honestly, it really is grossly oversized for pikal, but it does work and it's nasty.
