I found this site that shows you what your family crest looks like. I think you can get it on like t-shirts and coffee mugs and stuff. The only bad thing is they copyrighted all the images...so I guess you can't steal em. But it is houseofnames.com

That's very cool.
the reason you can't save them is because they sell you the image as a digital image for use on websites or in pictures and things, so if you could just save as, what's the point.
I wonder if these are all real coat of arms, if I can find my grandfather's family tree book I could tell ya.

My Family really got around, My brother has one that says we are English, My folks had one that said we were Irish and I have one that says we are Scottish... Now if I could just find one that says we are Celtic I'd be satisfied. Funny though, they are all almost exactly alike.

Its a pity we cant get an Assassin's Creed genetic memory visualiser thingy and just back track a persons DNA and find out their whole history and what happened to each ancestor ...... would be so awesome

Can a company actually copyright a family crest? That doesn't seem possible.

houseofnames.com is the only site that gives me a preview of my supposed family crest. I tried searching it on other sites but no one else will give me a preview, I have to order it to see it.
If anyone else can confirm my family crest on two different websites then you have my thanks and Karma. My surname is Giesbrecht and I figure if at least two websites have the same crest then it just might be my real crest and I'll place an order.

This is my family crest. Once whilst in county Clare, Ireland. I pulled out my credit card to pay for a meal and the proprietor saw that I shared the same surname as 90% of the people in the town. All of a sudden, everything was free. I have never drank so much in such a short time in all my life.

Would be cool. Nice looking crest you have there Chop... That furious lion was sure used by a lot of countries. I'd be willing to bet (not really, it just sounds like I know what I'm talking about) that it's Celtic in origin... What exactly does the Latin mean? Moral Excellence and Brave? Just a guess. Mine interprets to: Always a Knight

I do have my family tree and my coat of arms and it is not what this site shows me. All the coat of arms seem similar with the same general pattern just different colors and figures.True Heraldry is much more diverse. I highly doubt the historical accuracy of these. Just my two cents.

I always thought that my clan badge was my family crest.

Probably was, is, could be... I kind of agree with jpfranco, I'm a little skeptical myself on most crest's that people get. If I had a Clan Badge like yours, that would make me very happy. That's nice!

WOW! This is so cool: www.houseofnames.com/fc.asp?sId=&s=harrisSwordNation, thanks for pointing out this site. No wonder I have such a strong interest in the Norman invasion of 1066 and the resulting turmoil in England.
