Haha, there was definitely a big surge in reviews of these swords. I would have reviewed my CT Arming, but Tom had already posted one.

I would have liked to see it just to compare information and impressions.

I would have liked to see it just to compare information and impressions. Maybe I'll do one then, since I have his sword now...

I hadn't done any cutting with it at that point, but honestly my impressions were very much in line with yours, Mike's and Rick's. I was very impressed with the piece for what I paid, it was easily the best sword I owned, and I plan on buying another later in the year, though I'm actually considering buying the blunt instead...
Right now, my list is pretty short. I've got the VA Crusader, the Tinker/Hanwei Greatsword, and then the VA Practical sharp or blunt. I'll definitely be reviewing all three. I'm really giddy with anticipation about them. Can't wait until they're available. ;D
Edit: DOOOO it Sean. Honestly I'd love to see someone else putting it to better use than I did.

I finally got myself a true, full, ATrim arming sword and as good as the VA arming is the full ATrim is just so much much better.

Which model did you get, the 1315? I want one pretty bad, but I just can't justify the money on one sword at this point in time. After these three purchases (I might even breakdown and just go with the Crusader and the Great Sword), I've got to get money in order for my law enforcement school. I'm hoping these swords come out later so I can get the money saved before hand so I dont have to give up swords for awhile. ;D

I got a heavily modified AT1429 Here's a video of Hiroshi cutting with it. I have no idea what this sword would cost as is because I got it in trade from Shooter Mike along with another sword for an Albion Norman

Anyway, that was very helpful. How are they stiffness wise, as in, ability to trust? Ancalagon p.s. karma +1

James and the other mods put a LOT of working into creating an index of all the reviews... found here: /index.cgi?board=swordreviews&action=display&thread=8870 Just look threw there to find anything your interested in. The VA Atrim Arming swords are plenty stiff, and thrust well... I dunno about the longswords.

The VA practical LS stiff enough to go through a tire.

yeah the VA Atrim Practical swords are pretty stiff. the arming sword is VERY stiff, like a katana almost, the longsword flexes a lot more but it surprisingly stable and powerful in the thrust.

My Dear Droolers,
Behold! Deliverance has come! Lick your lips! Mop the floors! Dry off the local wildlife (but be careful....rabies and all)!
the VA/Atrims have reached Dallas! Hopefully the city has not been flooded already. Anyhoo...
I believe the word was, last I heard, that the Practicals will ship right out after landing (I'm assuming after landing in Grapevine, TX). The Kriegs and the Bristols will be given leather by Vanlianbt Armoury personally - you guys who could afford those swords MUST review them! They are going to be great, I know it.
As Shooter Mike said, these swords, if the improvements on them have been made correctly, could very well be the premier medieval swords on the market. So a thank you to the smiths in China, a huge thank you to Sonny, and pat on the back to ourselves for making it so far!

The Practicals get the leather treatment too. We didn't like the thin chrome-tanned leather from the first batch. Too thin. We are using the same leather that we put on the Signature swords. Also the pommels are cast on these instead of lathe turned like the first batch.

Holy crap, Sonny. I guess VA means business!
Does this mean, in the future, one might be able to get, say, brown leather on a practical? Or would just be too costly?
Just a thought - no harm in asking.

We considered doing the Practicals in Antiqued Brown for this batch anyway. If you have one on order and want it that way send me an email at sales@valiant-armoury.com

Does that mean if I was to put an order for a VA Practical with SBG Store I could email you at sales with details from Paul and request the brown is that a doable thing (I might just faint)

Well, we have yet to see how this new batch of swords will turn out, but so far I think Sonny's VA is giving the Chenness customer service a run for there money!
But this is an amazing deal, and I hope no one misses out.

Well one hopes that one wouldnt miss out but hey only so many to go around, think on this, it would be far better for VA to be running outta stock and then having to order more from the forge ........ "Hhhhmmm ...... dammnnnn " thinks the forge keeping steady production ...... "Damnnnnn ..... " thinks Sonny as his business continues to prosper Any hey, doesnt the waiting make it all the sweeter ................ as long as those cursed zombies dont come before then .............. that could affect the shipping time
