Just a note regarding Custom options on Valiant Armoury Swords. This Summer, when the full compliment of Signature swords are available, Valiant Armoury will be launching www.CUSTOM-SWORD-SHOP.COM. On this site you will be able to mix and match Guards, Pommels, Blades, Handle Styles, Belt Options and Color Dye Options. All this within reason because some pieces will not work with others. We hope this will quench the thirst for Custom options on our Signature items. Sonny I never cease to be impressed with the direction you have taken your company in.

I'm a soon-to-be DIW...as the one I want is not yet made (Templar or Crusader, I'm torn, HELP!) and I have not yet put a down payment on it but...I feel your pain!
Since I'll be joining the ranks sooner than I'd hoped, I thought I'd throw my gauntlet in with the rest of you fine gents.
To good swords, at decent prices- may we all obtain what we're anxiously awaiting sooner rather than later!
Edited to add: now I'm REALLY blown away, the VA guy is here??? Sonny, I only just recently became a fan of VA; I've known a few of your original pieces and while I could admit they seemed pretty well made, they just didn't appeal to me. I was directed to your site just recently by shadowhowler and all I could say was WOW...I like where this is going, so keep up the good work, man. I'd give you karma but I don't know how!

So i remain A Loyal VA AT DIW.

I placed my order on the AT304S around november 2008, so I've been drooling for quite some time. Besides I'll have Brian at DBK Customs do stuff for 275$ on it, making custom scabbard, dual color wrapped grip and more.... CAN HARDLY WAIT

Well , I 'm not waiting on a VA... but I am anxiously awaiting an Atrim 1508 that I ordered in June 2007... so I am literally drowning in "drool" I guess.... so , can I participate?
If it helps any , I plan on buying at least three of the signature model... the Hedemark, Malatesta and Kriegswhert.. but will likely wait until the second generations....

Ah, you are wise my son... waiting for the blades to get out there, the quirks to be discovered, and then addressed and improved upon in the second run... this is something I almost always did with new model cars I was interested in... wait a year or two, let em fix the kinks, THEN grab the improved version. All it requires... is pateince... ...patience sucks.

Well, it's March 15th. Today and tomorrow are about as mid-March as you can get. Now's where I start getting anxious since "mid-March" is the estimate on the SBG store. This is a broad statement, but when you're a drooler, anxiety cannot be avoided.
I'm also wondering about the custom sword site Sonny will be starting in summer. Will we be able to buy parts to customise our own swords that we already own? Wouldn;t mind putting the Kreigschwert hilt on my Pactical longsword.
Also, with this post, I would encourage droolers to post an "Incident Journal" until our swords get here.

Incident Journal
March 16
Having renamed my cat Valiant Armoury/Atrim I have the slightest feeling I'm beginning to lose my sanity. My friends have become increasingly nervous as i've taken to yelling out the POB and blade length of the practical arming sword for no reason. In my university lecture this morning my lecturer turned into said arming sword and proceeded to tell the class about the benefits of the "Extra Sharp" version ordered through the SBG store. These are very trying times...

I've been watching the progress with anticipation since the delivery date was going to be September 2008. I am very interested in obtaining a few of these for my collection, but the constant bumping of the time line has me pensive as a potential customer.
I learned along time ago not to pre-order anything (after waiting 18 months on a sword from a certian high-dollar sword maker), so I won't be putting any money into anything until I see some first hand reviews - plus I'll be waiting til the vendor can actually send me a tracking number when I send my money. There is alot of other stuff I can invest in while I wait!
Someone should start a jackpot for for guessing the actual delivery date of the first Bristol or Kreigschwert in another thread. ;D
My official guess in case someone does start a thread is going to be June 13th, 2009.

Odingaard makes a darned good point. My position is maybe something like "I probably won't pre-order anything. But if I do, I take the delivery time and triple it. Then add about half the originally quoted time to that number."
In other words, 350% of the time originally quoted... give-or-take 200%. That should about cover it. Unless there are unforseen delays...

I was thinking of getting the Practical Longsword (jesus Mike the number of times I've watched your review video man stop me now) but I wouldnt mind putting a bristol pommel on it, little extra length just add a dynamic to it, probably wont fit but hey

Well, if this keeps up, Sonny might be the man responsible for the Second Great Flood. So I have two questions....
One, has anyone built anything resembling an ark yet...and two, anyone heard anything on our swords?

Im getting mine from AOV and with custom grip from Brian so i may not see mine until God know's when if they would ship it without a grip i might get it faster like shootermike's idea but still im sure it will be well worth the wait
