Ah, yes the Atrim/VA practical series is here and looking like it's here to stay. Only problem is, they go so dag-blasted fast that there are some of us buying, but left waiting and drooling for our day to come.
If you are one of those folk, shout it out here!
I called Valiant Armory and talked with Sonny a few days back. His words were both encouraging and discouraging. He varified that not only will VA be making sure the swords are up to spec, but they will be doing the scabbards themselves - upgrading the scabbard leather to good ol' Texan leather. In Sonny's opinion, apparently, the old leather wrap on the scabbard (and I think they are doing the handles too, but don't quote me on that) wasn't as good as he wanted.
So hurraw! to Sonny for that.
However, he mentioned that the next batch is on the water. So yes, Mid March is when it should get to the states. But it looks like Sonny's had some run ins with costums that have made him a little resentful, ;D
He warned me that it could still be a few weeks after the swords arrived. I'm hoping it's sooner, but I'm thinking the swords may not be getting to some of our doorsteps until well into April.
BUT! That is only word of mouth, nothing official. So don't take my inexperienced and Non-VA word to heart. We shall have to only wait and see! Give a shout out if you're a Drooler in Waiting!

Oh, don't believe Luka over there, Chris. Every day gets us closer to our swords, and so it is one more step forward to recovery. But talking about your drooing problems always helps. Now, let's start with your mother.....

wow look at all these droolers, I think I may need hip waders around these parts. I'm actually pretty jealous of you guys because these new ones are supposed to be really good and have fixed some things. and being lighter could mean they are a whole new sword. I can't wait to hear what you guys think of them and see some cutting vids and pictures and stats. if they are different enough I may have to buy one.

I don't have one of these on order, so maybe my opinion shouldn't count.... But I wonder if it could be an option... for those of us who like to customize/replace our grip wraps and scabbard leather... to get a VA sword without any leather? That should speed up delivery and reduce Sonny's costs. And at the same time allow us to buy our swords at a slightly reduced cost, and have a more "custom-ready" platform to work with. Thoughts anyone?...

I think its a good idea, I'm getting ready to put my own pre-order in for the arming if they got any left (and in time doing my own custom leather) ........ I'm just wondering if requesting them leather free would add to the logistical nightmare that this is creating for Sonny, it probably goes either way either its factored easier and your ahead of the line or its considered "special request" and pushed back furthur ....... dont know unless we heard it from Sonny himself ....... I'm DIW ....... and my mother never truely loved swords

-sniffle- It's sto touching to see so many Droolers coming forward...
That's a great idea, Mike! I'd never do my own customization though...I'd be so frightened it would look horrible.Besides, I'm usually one who wants it to really look great...so I'd try it....try it again...and again and again....
....then give up and send it to Brian. LOL

but if you were set on sending it to Brian anyway and getting it without the leather would be cheaper then you would still win. it's a good idea.

Just a note regarding Custom options on Valiant Armoury Swords. This Summer, when the full compliment of Signature swords are available, Valiant Armoury will be launching www.CUSTOM-SWORD-SHOP.COM. On this site you will be able to mix and match Guards, Pommels, Blades, Handle Styles, Belt Options and Color Dye Options. All this within reason because some pieces will not work with others. We hope this will quench the thirst for Custom options on our Signature items. Sonny

Quench our thirst....or make our drooling only more pronounced. At this rate we'll have drowned our friends and families if we don't get some help!
