looks like a seller that use to go by Von Sussen Enterprises. Most of his wares were Deepeeka and yes not tempered.

It isn't worth it, it is a deepeeka, as is just about everything else on that sellers list. Deepeeka is woefully inadequate and should be called a carbon steel wallhanger.

Figured it was too good to be true. Thanks for the knowledge guys.
What is it with Deepeeka and brass anyway?

Brass is easy to maintain and probably easier to work with as it is softer than steel; I have a sword from Von Sussen (he still does business by that name as well as Highland Arms) that I suspect is untempered- but how can you tell? Flexibility?
I also noticed that the hilt leather was unsealed; when I emailed Don I think his name is, he informed me that it just needed some wax. Must be the same steel tho as mine was advertised for stage and light contact, but not full- I'm thinking these babies are probably not full tang either. At $70 you'll get a somewhat more 'authentic' looking wall hanger, but a wall hanger nonetheless. I could be wrong, of course.
Edited to add: the ad itself states the sword is 3/4 tang- really? Why bother? Why not just make it full tang? I went back and checked it out and the sword I have is a bit blade heavy- like I said, a nicer wall hanger maybe, but WH nonetheless.
