While I very much appreciate the nice box that Musashi sends their swords in, I find them to be very very...cheap. I just got my Musashi Phoenix today and opened the package and the little carrying handle had already broken off(though by the looks of it, trying to carry the case with it would have been futile anyway) and one of the latches doesn't match up on the end, so it doesn't close all the way. But like I said, I won't complain because it looks nice and what the heck, for the price who can complain about it! Heh.
But what I'd like to know is where could I possibly find a sword case or box to store my blades in? I'd like something nice that will hold up for a little while hopefully. Keep in mind, I don't mean a sword bag, either. Heh.

Well, I saw a nice aluminum one for around $115US, but I wasn't quite looking to spend that much. Heh, though if I absolutely have to I will.

I've made a few custom boxes but they were a little more expensive.

Well, I don't want my sword case to cost more than my sword, hehehe.

one thing that works really well and you can find em at different prices if you shop around is those rectangular rifle cases you can usually find em made from different materials i.e. plastic, aluminum steel what have you, and they're always lined with foam.... works very well as a sword case since you can typically fit more than one in there too

along the same lines as the retangular rifle cases...check Ebay for hard shell guitar / bass cases. Depending on the length you need, all that needs to be doen is to pop the center brace for the guitar neck out of the case and ......Bob's your uncle.....sword case for more than one sword. sometimes a bit cheaoer than the rifle cases.
I've been looking into the coffin bass cases for my DT 5155.

a standard black plastic rifle case should run you about $25 or less and works perfect for swords.

The one I have was $30, but holds both my Gen2 High Elven King and my SBG AT1315 quite nicely. Even used it to ship the HEK to Gen2 for a little body work after I messed it up. If you're not picky about appearance, this will do the job.

those were pretty much what iw as talkign about. you could go for the higher end stuff but the plain black plastic stuff works just fine. and they aren't pricey either... though sometimes you have to get them with castings of like ducks or a moose or something

All moose should fear my blade! And the ducks too!
Thanks for the many ideas, I will have to stop by the Bass Pro Shop and check out some of their cases to see if anything looks like it would fit. I might also check out the guitar cases, as well, just to see what's interesting. Mostly I only need it for one or two swords, since I only take a minimal amount of swords when I travel.
