After reading the post regarding Windlass’s new "sword of Muhammad", It got me thinking.
If you had $3000 and you had to spend it on a sword or multiple swords what would you buy?

Agreed totally, I wouldn't spend 3k on a sword...but if I had to it would be a custom L6 MAS blade.

I'd probably get an Albion (just to see what the fuss is about), then a mix of a few $5-600 japanese swords. I'd have to sit down and really think about what I'd buy with it. Of course if I just had 3 grand for anything, I'd be putting it towards a better car.

Albion Svante (I would have to fork out another $600)
Or a Conan sword...

That would be telling, lol! Since other members here might be itching to buy one of the ones I'd lisy, and just need a reason, I'm NOT going to provide it. However, it would be 3 of his swords and one dagger... -Slayer

if I had $3000 to spend the first thing I would do is Forge the Sword myself, and spend the money on a vacation. LOL sorry I felt compelled to say that.

Well ... readily availiable ... is that the query? Or just whatever? I have my own design I'd LOVE to commision Lundemo to do... Or I 'd love to get this Patrick Barta... but thats what two years just to get in queue? If I had $6000 I would buy du-sith But with $3000 , which is really a paltry amount to buy a sword , BTW, I 'd have to shop the SFI classifieds for secondhand customs... or maybe shop Larman's or Tenold's sites .. or Rick Barretts availiable page... awesome deals all those places time to time... If i HAD to get production I'd get an Albion , another ATrim a PC Oni , and have the tsuka shortened and a bugei , and then knowing me , I wouldd sell them all and but more ... LOL But the reality is I've spent WAY more than $3000 this year, and its time for my spending to ease off a bit for now....

I'm with John. If I had 3K I'd spend it setting up a small forge and start working

If I had the extra 3k I'd probably see how much it would cost for you to make a 27inch deep torii sori, shinogi-zukuri then you could take a vacation twice as long LOL

For $3k I'd go antique. Plenty of nice ones within that range. Hell, I've gone to two sites and have found ten already in just five minutes. Not going to link them, though, as my post would never end. Newly-made or production, though...hmm... Beats me.
