Type "IV" really might be worth it. It is very very good for our price range and I'm constantly under a pressure to buy it, they have it here in my local shop, but I keep restraining myself because I'm usually not into shortswords and I always spare money for something with some serious length.

The Coustille is too damn short for me... it's really a big dagger rather then a true short sword to me. The Clasic... meh. I have not heard any good or bad on it. The last one we have ALL heard about and it sounds to be good... but I just can't help thinking that for the price I would MUCH rather have a VA Practical Arming sword for less. The VA Arming sword should be avalible VERY soon. Of the three you listed. the XIV that isn't is your best option... but unless you really want a truster, then I'd wait and grab a VA Practical Arming Sword. Or you can check out MRL's sale... they have a lot of clearence items right now.

Well, classic medieval is also one of the better Windlasses. I would have it if I haven't bought my Del Tin 2130.

The type "iv" gets my vote (if your counting votes) any way that one was my 3rd sword and it has been a faithful, tough, well balanced, all around handy sword. The guard, as with most, (all) windlass swords will rattle I used some glue to fix that, re peeing could also work. the 25'' blade is short but not cripplingly so. In the end I'd buy the sword again in a heart beat.

I am not a big fan of the Classic Medieval Sword. I don't like the over sized crossguard and short grip.
I would vote for the Arming Sword.
Buy it from AoV and we will beat the KoA price by $10, and they are in stock.

I just got a Windlass "Type IV" (really Type XIV). I was really surprise at how well the blade is done and the handling is almost on a par with an Albion. In short, I think this is the best medieval sword Windlass has ever made. And Jason's offer is pretty sweet.

I still loves the Ulfberht. And I haven't reworked the grip on the "Type IV" yet, nor even sharpened it. But dry handling shows it to function more like an upper-end sword than any Windlass sword I've ever used.

Ha my life just became 30% more suckier, car didnt quite start over well last night, now wouldnt start getting home ....... down at the workshop, $515.00 new starter motor Great ........ another boring month to come ....... get it in April I suppose

Starter motors are a bolt off bolt on job. Most are pretty easy. And you can buy Reconditioned starter motors from Repco for around $100 or so; new about $200. Thats all you'd need. The hardest I've done was a Falcon - Had to have a ratchet ringy to manage as it didn't have much throw room for the wrench. Otherwise consider attacking it yourself if you are at all mechanically minded.

I like the look of that Classic Medieval. It's a very long blade, but looks light enough. You could always modify the guard if required. I'd like to jazz it up like so (+ a fancy grip wrap):

Heh... We don't have the Magna here in the states... I have always found it interesting what cars a company choses to release and where they chose to release them. However, Brenno is right... the starter is a pretty straight forward job that shops, at least here, will GOUGE the crap out of you on. For most cars in the states, you can find a new starter motor for around 150-300 and with some simple tools do it yourself... although as mentioned, some are trickier then others depending on how things are situated in the engine bay. I used to work in the Parts Dept of several Auto companies (Honda, Ford, Mazda, Subaru, Nissan, BMW, Porsche) and I have seen the markup... brutal. Sorry man.
