This is another of Museum Replica's swords on sale. www.museumreplicas.com/p-215-effigy-sword.aspxI looked using the search function and couldn't find any reviews of it. Anyone have one? I'm thinking of getting it but would like to know what others think about its quality before committing...

Not me, sorry... Maybe try google? It might come up with a review at one of the other sites. Also, you could check the review section at the Swords of Might Forums. It's quite possible that they'd have a review that we don't.
I hope this helps!

I was wondering as well. Although I dislike the brass fittings, the sword looks nice. Time to attempt some Google-fu.
*Edit* Okay, from what I have gathered, Windlass swords with brass guards appear to be a general No-no as the the guard either bends, or is eaten away from the steel. I would not trust it...

My son just got one from KOA. It handles really well. We haven't cut with it but it has a lively and quick feel. Unfortunately it has a blemish on the pommel (like a 3 cm gouge) which I attribute to MRL being down to the last of their inventory.

And here I thought they used brass because it was easy to clean and maintain! I don't like the look of brass on a sword, at least, not on that one.

Not for me, but looks like a nice blade.

I haven't had any problems with the brass on my Windlass Fantasy Viking. Then again, I polish it every few months or so.
