Geeze does the MRL PR department (if they have one) even care about the opinions of the customers? Their motto seems to be: " We can always have too much of a good thing! " Stop discontinuing good swords!

Their strategy is bordering on the absurd...
Mr. Southren, is there anything you could do -with all your power- to reach them and get some explanations? It is really weird that way of continually discontinuing good items...really weird...is there even a sensible explanation...I'm seriously puzzled.
Maybe we could all sign a petition or something? Seriously, let's do something and be heard out there in India. Why not? What do we have to lose?
Reflingar "When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro." H.S. Thompson And Windlass's business choices are sometimes weird to understand...

I doubt there is much to be done... Paul is not even a Windlass vendor, so he would have little pull with them. Fellow Forum member Odingaard used to work for/with Windlass... and offered them some GREAT advice... which they promply ignored. I think Windlass is as Windlass does... and there ain't much we can do about it.

as much as I hate it too.....me thinks it comes down to Windlass looking at sales and the bottom $.....if something isn't selling greatly then they just pull the plug rather quickly. So many nice pieces that they dis-continued without any real warning.
The Verneuil is a great sword from them, but I haven't heard of alot of folks that bought one. glad I found the one I've got when I did......
cheers,
Bill

Some excellent swords on sale now... The old Towton sword, German bastard sword, Verneuil, Fantasy Viking, German backsword, Naumburg, Sword of Oran... They're retiring the Naumburg already? Sheesh...might have to shuffle my wishlist a bit...thanks for the update. Its like they retire all of the GOOD stuff and keep all the fluff. Fluff = stuff I'm not interested in, of course. lol Edited to add: I gotta check this out; there are at least two swords marketed as the Vernueil (sp) by Windlass; one is a longsword with 'antiqued' parts, the other a shorter singlehand sword with steel parts, curved cross and a cord under leather wrap. That last one I saw in one of their older, big page catalogs...I'll look into this tonight.
