I joined this forum over one year ago because I was intrested in purchasing a katana and wanted to know more since there was obviously others thinking like me. And others that benefited from that selling either good or bad products. After a while I bought my first katana(or at least thought it would be my first) from masterofswords.eu. Weeks went by without me getting to hold my katana, then months went by then I realized that I would never get that katana. Then I ordered a sword from an Australian reseller having read some reviews about them, this time I got the katana and was both happy and disappointed. But at least I had my very own katana, and it was only thanks to SBG.
After a while on the forum I thought I had gotten at least (half)the knowledge from fellow sbg members to forge my own knife. And so I did, the result wasn't the best but I had still forged my own knife and it was only thanks to the friendly members of this forum.
Well lets get on to the point, we've had some discussions about a certain ebay seller(I hope I can write this much at least without breaking the slender policy). I think you know who, anyways after I wrote what I thought about him he showed his true colors(which I knew he would anyway) and sent me a really hateful mail.
And(a long point yes) I understood that the reason he was so mad is that SBG has such an influence on the sword-buying-world that it had enraged a dishonest reseller because his true colors had been seen. And I realized that it is the members and readers of SBG that now to some point is controlling the modern production sword market, and I think we will more and more as SBG grows. And all to the better, during the (almost)year I was gone from this forum(and from swords), alot has happened and the quality of many blades has improved to the better. For instance, Hanwei, a sword making giant is in the works of forging a new sword line that is made to suit the "back-yard-cutter" and I must say that if it's not because of this forum then I don't know what.
So I think I'm not alone being proud as a member of this forum!
