While Sal had time, he managed to take advantage of sharing information from other sources. Consider timelines of his contributions and others. TimelinesConsider then also that his newly found and posted Japanese guides were little more than re-publishing other's work. Sour grapes? Not from me, really not. Just observations and truths. Cheers Hotspur; I do believe I had left him a wide birth since his choice in complaining about others elsewhere

Let me give appropiate retribution to you Mr. Rick Williams!!! 1+ Karma for thou!!
Still, I was a young grasshopper, and had not learned many things; I thought that creating controversy I would appeal, when truth never screams or yells, it subtly murmurs behind your ear................

Since we are talking about frustrations that makes people quit on forums Something to think about imo is that not always are things that need to be said the same as the most popular to be heard.
For example safety issues, not only when it comes to swords of course, it could be anything but as swords is what this site is about it can be a good example; If few or almost no one talks about for example safety, it´s easy for the person/s who does to be seen like grumpy guy/s who kills all fun. That can be very frustrating in the long run.
Not to talk about when it comes to buying things. Often rather popular objects are not to be recommended, especially not for beginners but they are cheap and easy to find and with that follows a certain popularity by uninformed and new in a field of interest. And the info that this is no good; what you are going to purchase could even be dangerous perhaps not only for the person who buys it or uses it but perhaps also for a whole area, it could in the end result in restrictions and prohibiting regulations and so on... is not always popular things to say especially if you have to say it over and over again to people who already made up their minds to do just what you have to warn against. When it is said to ten, five more comes and asks the same thing, and then fifty more in an endless stream. So, it is easy to find yourself in a role that can be more or less frustrating and few persons are able to avoid being ifluenced by that kind of frustration. And then the tone changes, a little by little, unfortunately but possibly inevitable... And there you are, a grumpy guy that seldom have nothing positive to say, just lecturing on and on because he/thinks he knows so much more then anyone else(?)... then it´s easy, not to say natural, to quit.
I don´t say this is the case here, or even have anything to do with these persons mentioned in this thread, but I´ve seen it happen several times elsewhere, almost like a predestined pattern in some circumstances. And often it is for a site very valuable persons who dissappears in a similar way. And then it comes as a chock for the other members when they are gone, like out of the blue.. So what do I want to say with this, that it is worth considering that it is not always only popularity contests and the one who can write the whittiest oneliner that are of most use and the most contributing. In some way all after the own ability have a responsibility to come with info that is not always what everyone wants to have.

til it realises you aren't listening then it hits you with a big stick!
Heh, I remember the good old religious days of my good friend Aku, those were fun times to the point you would irritate people so much I would laugh so hard my vision blurred from tears. This place is easy to troll, I have done it one occasion to great success, but my favourite target is no longer a member here, I actually miss Ramm, never thought I'd say it but things were livelier with him around.
