I did a search and didn't find any recent posts regarding this, so here goes: Windlass's new Munich sword: www.museumreplicas.com/p-729-munich-sword.aspx. I'm really stoked about this one. I've long admired A&A's Town Guard sword, which is basically a wide bladed rapier. The Munich follows this same general appearance. There's just something "right" about a wide blade and a rapier style hilt.

I agree that this sword is very sexy. I like early-rapier/sidesword/whatever swords, with their wide base, needle-like business end and elaborate hilt.

early-rapier/sidesword/whatever swords I wasn't exactly sure what to call it either. ;D It's definitely sleek and graceful, yet without looking fragile. I hope they don't discontinue it before I can get my hands on one.

Very nice, but i fear it will suffer from a case of Whindlass Whippiness.

Agreed! verrrry nice!
But, to quote Michael Corleone: "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in." I shouldn't go and buy it, no...must...refrain...argh...must...wait...
Lol

looks similar to a dis-continued model from them , but for the life of me, can't remember the name. I'll have a look through my old MRL catalogs when I get home.
Yes, the A & A Town Guard is along them same lines....

When I saw this topic, I was like: ;D I thought Windlass made their own version of XVIIIb in Bayerisches Museum, popular Albion Munich.
