Taran, I think that statement wants some explaination, for it is one heck of a thing to say in a sword forum.
tell us the story.

The guy was using an iaito and yeah as I understand it he missed the mouth of the saya, although he must've been using way too much force to sheath his sword.

Just remember that blades can be more dangerous then bullets on occassions, because of the nature and gross tissue damage a wide blade (particularly sword) can inflict on meat (yes Mr Forearm) .......... you accidentally shoot your foot with a 9mm, okay pretty bad, maybe even blow a toe off (you wont miss it and hey easy to attach) ......... but drop a 3 pound sword, edge down, on a naked foot ........... well we all watch tatami cut dont we .......... try and hobble on half a bloody stump ............. Yeah dont shoot, stab, cut, slice, garrotte self with sago cord etc etc etc ........... know that even though swords arent as frightening as firearms and their ND's .......... doesnt mean the danger isnt awesome ........

Holy semprini! What kind of noto was that??? I mean I pushed a sword trough my hand a time ago when resheating it (a Sax) but I didn't had that kind of wound.
Maybe I should post a picture of the scar.
