A buddy of mine is interested in buying a sword, and he loves the look of this one. He asked me to post on here asking if there are any reviews, or if anyone has any experience with this sword.

I love the look of that one too... and I have found it in some places for less the 100 bucks, so I have been very tempted. However, it looks like it might be pretty overweight (I have seen it listed at over 4 lbs before) and most every Hanwei Europian sword I have ever seen has had a craptastic edge. Thats kept me from buying it so far.

Practical hand and a half or what? If talking about the practical hand and a half it is a spectacularly good sword with great balance and good for WMA practice.

Yeah... thats the one I thought you were talking about. Wiwingti has it listed at a bit under 3 lbs... which would be fine. However I have seen it listed eleswhere for over 4 lbs. Hm.

Seth: get the hanwei practical hand and a half, much better weapon and cheaper.

You mean the blunt one (Isn't the one for cutting expensive)? I am not sure if he would want a blunt, but I could always charge him personally for sharpening. ;D

Man! Why do these vendors refuse to use any effort when creating a sword! Ugh! I hate marketing Scams! Battle Ready?! Maybe if it is a projectile weapon!
Karma to you for the warning.
Looks like I am gonna practice my grinding skills once again. ;D
Does anyone know anything about the River Witham sword (Or any of them for that matter)? It is at the bottom of the page...
If not, I am just gonna assume all those blades are crap and to stick with the practical line.

I would rule them out as crap on a stick after the many reviews I have read on them, I personally don't even like the look of them.
Seth: Yeah I was talking about the blunt hand and a half. Fantastic blade and I think Bren even did a review where he put his through a barrel.

Yup... like I said, every Hanwei sword that was NOT a Katana I have handled had an 'edge' made of epic fail. A real shame about the tang tho, I have not had that happen... yet.

I just looked at the CAS Iberia Lionheart review by Tsafa and it seems like a great sword for a beginner.
Is this the same one on wiwingti's site?
