Has anyone heard anything about any quality reproductions of the up coming movie swords?
I'm sure the Chinese factories will try and cash in, I'm just hoping someone tries to cash in with a high quality piece, much like the GG Highlander katana.

Thanks for the link! I see that they are being marketed by Master Cutlery. I guess that is a little better than Bud K, but you are right, nothing more than a wall hanger.

Windlass makes both the Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow swords. I'm not sure if they have been discontinued, but there should be some stock still available.
Windlass is reputable for making serviceable blades.

I don't think the Windlass models are going to be the "official" movie models. From the preview photos I've seen, Snake Eyes carries what appears to be a tactical katana and Storm Shadow has a daisho with white ito.

Sorry I didn't mention, I was remarking on the link Ecovolo posted. The film versions wont be canon, but I'm sure they'll look neat. As a personal comic fan, I'd rather own the canon designs.

I hear you. The GI Joe figures I had when I was little (read: 1980's) were different than the movie, *that* is for sure. For starters, Snake Eyes didn't have a sword-- he had an Uzi submachinegun and a pack for ammo. Stormshadow had a backpack that contained a katana and wakisashi, and a shortbow . I'd be impressed if they portrayed the characters as the toys I remembered. --Edward

Actually on a side note it's the same katana which came with the GI JOE sized action figures of Sub Zero and Scorpion from Mortal Kombat.

I remember storm shadow with a rake claw as well. So did snake eyes, a three clawed thing that clipped to the back of his wrist.

I think I was off GI Joe by then. No Sgt Rock fans out there? lol
If these swords are made by Master Cutlery then chances are, they'll be stainless steel. They made the swords for the movie Eragon; stainless down to the last one.

www.swordsofmight.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=780not a quality piece by any means but it is a repro of the sword snake eyes will be using in the upcoming movie... i was very excited for it until i found out about thier "power suits"... just stupid if you ask me... basically its a mechanized suit of armor that turns them into a power ranger

power ranger might not be the best term... but they get these suits (this is what i've read and you can see them using htem in parts of the trailer) that give them super strength and other abilities like running really fast jumping really high etc... really dumb if you ask me

It's a logical step if they're trying to make the film modern, in my opinion. Powered exoskeleton suits are something the government has been researching for a long, long time. However, it's a bit of a shame that they are changing the source material.
And don't knock the original Power Rangers. You loved them and you know it. Feel free to bash on the other spin-offs.

I only liked the one in pink, she was really, really hot. Couldn't act her way out of a paper bag, but thats not why we watched PR anyways. LOL I've done some research on powered exoskeleton suits (or nanosuits as I like to call'm; got that from a vid game but forgot which) - I'm sure there's a practical version already being tested by the military but doubt we'll see/hear much about it til its been tested and approved. I for one would love to have one...I'd go free running all over D.C. if I could be assured that my powered leaps would allow me at LEAST Spiderman's 25ft leaping ability. Could you imagine? LOL
