yeah i think you have importation taxes to pay,,and you need for the sender to ship the item as a iaito ( training) sword. if it is sent as a sword,,,you will wait a very very long time,,and maybe not be able to get your sword. it seems that customs in UK keep them a long time and that it is dificult to have them.
you should PM kenpachi316 he will help you having it.

Didn't they ban imports, and then weren't certain parts of that ban reversed?

Funny you should ask that, Ive just baught a sword and imported it from the US to the UK and ended up paying an extra £50 to in tax to Gordon Brown . My understanding is if you are buying something from outsinde of the EU and it costs more then £35 then you have to pay import duty on it. If its coming from somewhere within the EU then you pay VAT in the country where you bought it. I don’t think customs check every parcel so you may get lucky. My sword took three days to pass through customs.

and you need for the sender to ship the item as a iaito ( training) sword. not necassarily an iaito but as an 'iaido martial arts sword' just definately not a 'samurai sword' or else theyll snatch it right up and 'investigate' you.

its not really politics more of a national hobby ;D And it brings back fond memories of our all-too-brief visit to England a few years ago when the talk was all about "Teflon Tony."
