Well, poo, I havenm't figured out how to do engraving yet...really intricate designs are soemthing I like to try to avoid for now. BUT I do have another design! Ok, Debbie, time for you to come out of the closet again (if you wouldn't mind) and give your thoughts. This one is yet another for the ladies. A narrow, light blade with grey-blue and stainless steel fittings. Length: 35" Blade: 29" Blade Width: 1.7" Weight: 1.8lb - 2lb Thanks. Crockett

Thats a BIG fuller... I wonder what that blade would feel like... I would think almost a combination between a Viking sword and a rapier.

Yeah, Howler, it is a rather good sized fuller. One thing I did on purpose. I was drawing on the basic look of the Hanwei Practical Viking, hoping it would be possible on a regular viking. It should add some lightness to the blade, if my simple logic will suffice.
In my mind, this sword is to be more agile and fast with good recovery, allowing for a woman (usually more flexible than most men) to use her body to its full advantage. So an average lady can wield it without trouble.
I would suspect a very good heat treatment would be in order with this kind of blade.

I'm not s lady but I like this one very much. I like them simple and I like wide fullers, so this one is just about right for me. +1

For the longest time, one of my favorite Viking Swords has been the Trondheim by Hanwei. Seen Here: www.kultofathena.com/product~item~SH2296~name~Hanwei+Trondheim+Viking+Sword.htmNow, the sword itself might be average in some eyes, beautiful in others. But the best feature, to me, that really just stands out is a simple, minor feature - the way the cross-guard and the mouth of the scabbard fit so seemliessly together. That inspired this next design. The cross-guard was inspired by a mental image of the Trondheim, and the pommel is an original creation that I feel in love with (the first pommel I've truly liked in my designs since my own "Ulfer" design). Hope you all like it! Length: 34" Blade Length: 28" Blade Width: 2.4" Weight: 2.3 lb Materials: Bronze fittings with blued indents in the pommel. deep, red-brown leather grip and scabbard with lighter brown and bronze accents. Wooden strap-bridge. Crockett

I've been very tempted to buy the trondheim, people have much negativity about the sword but made from one piece billet and hanwei does make a pretty mean sword but I just love the scabbard and the handle on it, unfortunately the blades on my vikings are generally too long in my opinion. Verding is a very interesting looking sword, nice work yet again.

All looking very nice. Hreinn would be nice with huge stag horns coming right out as a guard, rather than the little chicken feet. The Pommel on Verding IS nice. My favourite is still Laufsblad

Yeah I am with Bren, there is just something about laufsblad, I especially love the length and the colours work great together.

Well, Brenno, if Wraith gets the funds for it, you might get your chance to see it in reality!
I'm hoping so - it'll be awesome to see.

Well, I re-vamped my old Ulfer design for the sake of making it crisper and cleaner. I updated the blade to the style that Mr. Fields and I agreed to and I also improved on the colors and tweaked the grip. Also, I added a design to be etched on the blade. It is my personal design for my designing, "ANB Designs" and it is a symbol for my initials. So I decided that I'd like it marked on this blade to mark it as my own. Thanks all.

Alrighty! Nore to add to Ulfer. The original scabbard was made for simplicity's sake so that it could be made inexpensively. But what about a real, honest-to-goodness wolf theme? I had no idea where to start using just my mouse. But I recently (Just this Monday) purchased a Wacom Bamboo tablet. So, I used it to, hopefully, good effect! Fittings are meant to be Iron, or perhaps tinned bronze. Maz, if you want to do a project with me sometime...I'm thinking this one might be fun! Crockett

Maybe if we cut the chape and locket out of thin guage steel with a dremel... there would have to be a weld in the back though. The rest is smooth sailing. When will the sword be in your hands anyway?

I'm not terribly sure. I have not asked Chris for an estimate yet - though he has started on it. Mr. Fields wants to make blade for a living, but as he is just starting out, he has to have another job. He also has a fiance to make time for. So I am not going to rush him. He works mainly o the weekend and my sword is about third or fourth in line right now. But if I were to guess, from what he's talked about in his projects, the sword should be done around June - but that is only my guess. Could be sooner, later....it's still early.

Phew! Been a while! Ok...so I know this next design isn't viking...it's still a design I'd like to post. It's name is Gebróðra - or Brother - in Old English (according to an online dictionary I found at least...) I'll have stats up later. Thanks all!

Thanks Poo, Howler. Always love to have comments ^_^
Slayer, I'm going to have to say that I'd rather this sword not be made unless under a very specific reason. I falied to mention it in the post, but I created this design for my closest friend, who is like a brother to me. So this sword techincally, in my wirkd at least, belongs to him.
However, I have a new design in the works. I'd be happy to post it here soon and see if you like it!

Oh, okay. It would probably take me a LOOOOONG time to get the $$$ anyway. If I ever DO get a custom blade made, I'll be sure to get your help designing it. Thanks! ;D -Slayer
