now you are just being hebetudinous my friend not really sure how serendipitous fits? The cognizant realization of the thread becoming humorous (from my perspective), found the circumstance of inquiry serendipitous. Cheers Hotspur; what could I think at this point but to enjoy a choked chuckle

This thread is going downhill, FAST. I guess I am somewhat to blame for slight derailment... my bad.

The following blade was design upon request from our dear Bloodwraith. He asked me for a design that would be 25", and described his favorite colors as being green, brown, and gray. So I made sure to combine everything. A mossy, gray-green is the main color, with steel fittings and brown leather here and there. So, here it is: Laufsblað [Lawfs-blawd]....I think....or [Lofs-blawth]....I don't know anymore. Thanks Wraith. LOL Blade Length: 25" Blade Width: 2.5" at base (note that it tapers) Material: Moss-Green suede, steel fittings with blackened steel indents in the pommel and crossguard. Wood-core scabbard, moss-green leather, steel accents, brown leather bands tying down wooden strap bridge. Thoughts welcome, all!

Oh yeah it is very shiny and definitely worth getting made, I think it is even better than the dream sword I put up. I especially love the flared base.

I hope you do in fact get to have it made. We need to get Brenno in here and see what he thinks. Would he mind if I PMed him?

Nope. These are all awesome designs by the way Crockett.
I like all these designs. A 25" blade is all you really need isn't it. I could make Laufsblad with only one exception. I am at this stage not sure how wide and long I can make the fuller. But it's something I'd look into. Otherwise I don't see any problems with this last design. It's sweet. And I'm sure Brian could do the scabbard no worries.

I think your work would complement each other very well.

How about a sword by brenno, a scabbard by Brian, with a design by yours truly?
Or am I getting a little too confident here LOL

Ok, finally a new design. Though...I am really not too sure about this one. Brenno, would you mind giving some input, if you can, on this design? I was feeling a little empty for ideas, so I just let my hand to the work and this came out. I like how it looks....but what about functionality. Would it be possible? Thanks all!

Rather interesting looking design, I was trying to do a dragon design in the same way a while ago, it never came off unfortunately. Which program are you using to draw these, out of curiousity?

I rather like it, but the antlers look a bit like chicken feet. Sorry, just had to point it out.

dan: great minds think alike, at first I thought it was a stylised bird sweeping down upon it's prey, then I read the name.

Wraith: I use Photoshop 7.0 And now that you mention it....you've all heard of Rudolf the Rednosed Reindeer... This sword is based off of the arguably famous, and somewhat overlooked, Adolf the Chicken-leg Antlered Reindeer. Unfortunately, Rednosed Reindeer is easier to say, so the poor guy got snubbed every Christmas season. Ok, and here is a second draft - cutting out some of the buly at the hilt. However, I had to put that extra bit in there because of the who ordeal with trying to get the mouth of the scabbard to conform with the antlers.

hey dude! I must say, I love the fuller, but strongly dislike the antlers. Perhaps go for a more subtle deer head shaped guard. Maybe take the original design you have, but ditch the antlers, and flatten (compress) the "deer head" guard. note: I think it would be AWESOME if you made a kind of cool Celtic knot styled deer head engraved into the guard. Just mah 2 cents there keep up the good work! Quinn
