Crockett: I like 'em all, particularly the Grimlyte and the leaf blade. I've never been much for pure fantasy blades, but I've always been a sucker for "maybe never were, but sure could have been, if things had worked out just right" type blades. I like your style. Keep 'em coming.

Ok, this will probably cause an end to this thread.
I have removed all designs that were not copyrighted for the sake of privacy of my own designs. I will probably re-post them once I have them copyrighted. Sorry, for anyone who wished to see. But do to the constant outcry from friends and family warning me - I have removed the designs before they can be used improperly or without my permission.
I do not mean anything against SBG or any members. I have no reason to believe any of you would do something like that, but I'd rather not take the chance of some average joe visiting and then swiping.
Thanks for all the wonderful comments from everyone!!

Aw...man that is just cold. But I can't blame you for watching your back, no telling who might be looking on the forums for inspiration.

Yep, I read that right after I posted ( and silently cursed my luck and prayed none would notice).
Oh, well.

Well, Grinner, you can go ahead and rest easy, lol. I went and bought the copyrights to "Aaron Brown's Designs - Viking Series." Which covers the designs within.
So, with that said, here is the newest design. This one, labeled Dròttning, or "Queen", is designed for female use. So, I'd need to get the gals in here for their opinions!
Stats:
Length: 34" Blade Length: 27" - 28" Blade Width: 2" at base Fittings: Steel, blue suede, and brass rings on scabbard. Weight: Going for 1.8 lb, but probably 2 lb.
Again, this is a design for the women viking lovers. It has a shorter blade with a strong taper in the blade to take off some weight.
Thoughts welcome!

I may not be a female, but even I would wield that sword with pride.

Maybe I am!! No worries though mate, just a huge fan is all. I like viking swords, you make viking sword designs, you do them greatly. It is just that each piece is very unique and worthy of praise in it's own way is all... Perhaps I should post my philosophy before praising.

Good grief, I swear I'm addicted to designing. Does anyone know if there is a way I might be able to get any of this into production? Are there any producers out there looking for designs?
Newest design from my Viking Series. The Bjòðann [Bee-YO-dan], or "Prince." This one was designed with a good and faithful friend in mind. He loves the simple but unique, like I do, and he loves green.
Length: 38" Blade: 30" long, 2" wide Weight: 2.2 - 2.6 lb.
Thanks all!

Hi crockett, I have been looking at these all along crockett, they are all very nice, but I have never handled a viking blade so I can't comment on size, weight, or prospective balance issues as I know nothing about them. So I have kept my mouth shut. But since you asked I will give you my aesthetic opinion FWIW . Drottning is a very nice looking sword. I am partial to silver and blue, so that has something to do with it. I like suede, but not on a sword that I would use a lot. Maybe the steel would be too shiny for me, but it does sound like a nice contrast with the suede. I think the rings in the middle would be very nice if they were made of blackened iron or something with a similarly cool palate. The gold tone does not really do it for me. Also, I am not too partial to the asymmetric chape. I like the tapered fuller very much. It looks very elegant, but I think it would be nice if the end of the taper echoed the end of the blade. The guard looks like it might be a bit on the sharp side. In use the guard swings close to the hand, right? So I would be concerned about biting in use. I really appreciate that you are considering smaller persons in your design repitoire +1 Just my two (uh three and four) cents , Debbie

Uh... you can see it? Can EVERYONE but me see it? For me it shows a 'This image has been moved or deleted' where Dròttning should be.

Whoops! Sorry guys! I moved all my sword images to a new folder (since there were so many of them). I forgot the links break when you do that. Problem should be fixed now.

Yeah, I can see it now... Very nice. My only critique is I agree with djmahoney, I'd like the fuller to follow into the end of the blade just a little bit more.
